Crowne Plaza Foster City-San Mateo - Hotel in Foster City - 1221 Chess Dr, USA

This hotel is a little tired - I stayed in an executive suite with a kitchen that had zero amenities (plates, glasses, silverware) and a wine fridge but no regular fridge. The front desk staff are fantastic - they were very accommodating and creative in problem solving one of my issues. I had a drink and an appetizer in the restaurant - the bartender was not friendly and slightly combative when there was an issue with my order. The poke nachos were beautifully presented and very tasty.

We arrived a little bit earlier and was checked in right away without any issues. We got a little snack to acknowledge my clum membership and directed to our rooms. The front desk staff even suggested a restaurant in case we were looking for something to eat. The room was very clean, however there was a cigarette smell that I wished was taken care of better. Luckily Target wasn't far, so I went to get a room freshener. The beds were super comfortable and I slept like a baby. We had brunch the next morning at Cafe Florian which was delicious and amazing waiters.

This hotel is a hidden gem. We checked in on Saturday. The staff are friendly and helpful. Location is a plus. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar. They also have a dancing club. Only thing is we have to make sure to make reservation for the Sunday Bruch at checkin otherwise the wait could be significant. There are other breakfast options outside within reasonable driving distance.

Stayed for 2 nights for our company Christmas Party. We got a one night discounted group rate directly from the hotel. We decided to check in a day earlier and booked the earlier night through a third party site. ||When I checked in I informed the front desk manager, Renato, about my 2 separate bookings. He took care of it so that I did not have to go back again the following morning to sort things out as I had to do in another hotel when I had 2 consecutive nights but with 2 separate bookings. ||Our room with 2 beds met our expectations. Very happy with the comfortable beds and pillows. I only wish they upgrade their old televisions to SMART TVs with internet connection. Breakfast buffet for $25 per person was pretty decent. Good value for money in the high priced San Francisco Bay Area. ||Food served by the hotel’s kitchen to our company Christmas party also met our expectations. I recommend this hotel.

We bought the package for the room and New Year's Eve party and it worked really well! We didn't need to worry about driving or taxis or coats and it was fantastic to be able to freely come and go between the event and our room. We also bought the breakfast deal for the next day which was a good value and good quality.

Our trip had to be rescheduled due to a major airplane equipment issue. As such, we contacted the property to rebook our stay. The General Manager decided that it was more important to enforce policy and did not allow us to rebook. He decided that it was more important to take a few hundred dollars than to gained loyal customers. The GM's inability to put customer service first is a good indication of poor service that you'll get when you stay at this property. I hope IHG takes note and make a management change at this property.

We haven't been to the Crowne Plaza since before Covid-19! This was our place to getaway but not too far! From the minute we walked through those familiar sliding doors, we were back! From beginning to end our stay was fantastic! The hotel looked clean, shining and ready to parry! The staff was 5 Star, professional, friendly and extremely helpful.

Spoke with the staff several times who were all quite pleasant to speak with and very helpful when answering the questions I had or processing my arrival and departure. The room itself was a standard room on the sixth floor. Had no issues with sound from other people and the elevators were situated in a way where they have their own corridor that is not next to a wall in any direction where there is a room. So not having to worry about being stuck next to a noisy elevator is a great experience. Other than that, the room was clean, had a big TV, a nice firm bed with plenty of pillows, a quiet air conditioner, and enough space to do some work at the desk or some relaxing on a couch.
