Crown Lodge Motel Oakland - Featured Reviews (178)
I needed a room in the neighborhood for the temporary relocation of my tenant who had a fire in her kitchen. This place is a "motel" and you get what you pay for. But, the manager was so accommodating and polite and help make this emergency situation a little less stressful. I greatly appreciated his efforts.
The rooms are not worth the money but it was late and we needed a place to just sleep. Strange people walking around the motel all nite staring like they want to rob you. The no smoking room was actually no smoking which I loved not having that smell. Over all not the best but definitely not the worst in the area. The guy at the front desk is awesome! He is so kind.
Overnight and found this place via web. Actually started at the other end of this mini-strip of motels and rejected that place as too scary. This one looked okay from the outside. But still, talking with the clerk thru a bullet proof window and one of those bank sliding drawers should tell you something about the neighborhood. ||||Room itself was typical, functional. There was a mini-frig and flat-panel TV. No alarm clock. They have smoking (really?!) and non-smoking rooms. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work, but seeing the (visual) quality of the place, I'm not sure I'd trust their network.||||We were lucky. Our room and neighbors were quiet; as in the evening and in the morning, we saw what could be some, ahem, solicitations going on in the other wing of the motel.||||If you really need a place to stay, try the place across the street, or keep going on to San Francisco or Berkeley.||This is not the type of neighborhood that you want to be out and about at night.
I have never written a review of a motel before. This is completely honest. Go to the Starlite Motel a block and a half away. Great value, great rooms. Three hundred dollars a week as of this date. This place has no refrigerators, no microwaves, and towels that would scrape the skin of elephants. They charge 65.00 a night. The reason that was explained to me for the lack of microwaves was that they did not have a license. This is a crappy place with no money that is trying to rehab on your dime. The staff seems nice, as I suppose you would have to be if you are selling crap. It smells as well.
Can't believe i paid $200 for 2 nights for this motel. The room was so dirty . The light in restroom worked intermittently . No microwave, no refrigerator. Terrible drug smell , too noisy with a lot of bad people saying bad work and used drug. Someone entered to my room to clean up the trash when i went out. I had to wait 30mins to check out because the office guy was fall asleep. I don't recommend anyone to rent this motel.
After checking in and seeing that the room was extremely dirty we talked to the manager which told us that the room wasn't dirty. We insisted that it was and for him to go check it, he told us to go home. Not only was the room dirty but the management was very rude. Would not recommend it. It is also in a very bad location!!!!! We ended up leaving after only an hour. We booked through Expedia and had to call them about five times to get our money back.
This place is a ripoff!!! They quote you one price and when you go to pay it, after you are already in the room the rate jumped 20$ higher than stated. When confronted on it, management refused to fix it. Didn't even charge tax... Pretty sure that is not legal. And the place is a dump to boot! The rooms looked like you just stepped into the 80's and it smells like my great grandfathers sick and underwear drawer!! AVOID THIS DUMP!!
The price is kinda a bit overpriced and the deposit is extremely over priced for the motel being located in the hood of Oakland. Also the rooms are not small but it also depends on what room. Some rooms are clean and nice , but some rooms bedding are clean and some bedding not so much. I have stayed involved a one bed and a two bed and I believe the one bed number 22 was clean and the bedding was clean as well but yesterday number 25 the betting made my boyfriend itch. This motel brings up bad and upsetting memories for me. I do not dislike but the hotel can do way better and the Internet a little slow and upsetting because it disconnects a lot . I would recommend this to anyone that has a low income but can pay at least come up with $94 or so for a 1 bed room, and $110 for a two bed... also including the $100 deposit
Cozy, unpretentious yoga studio for people of all ages and abilities. I've only gone to this location one time so far but the instructor was great. Lots of natural light and a nice waiting area with clean restrooms and water available. Highly recomme
Love to support small business inspired by family and culture and led by strong women! Highly recommend the latiya latte and champorado mocha (as well as their chicken empanada) ð we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with co-owner Ari and l
