The cottages were cute, and the wife loved the clawfoot tub. Very clean, wifi good, and helpful owner. Sunsets were spectacular. Mostly, they were in a great location to everything. A very relaxing experience overall. We saw tons of birds, and hired a local guide, Matt Brown with Patagonia Bird and Butterfly, for half a day, which really helped us get a sense of the area. Loved the food coop, Velvet Elvis, Mercedes, etc. Saw the best hummingbirds at Paton's and the Patagonia-Sonoita creek preserve. Everyone was helpful, and the overall vibe in the area was great. Highly recommend for a summer bird getaway.||FYI, almost everyone is Patagonia wants **cash only**, so bring your wallet r hit the market ATM.

My husband read an article in Arizona Highways about these adorable cottages and mentioned he'd like to stay there sometime. On a whim shortly after, I called to see about availability for a trip for our anniversary and a tour of the wineries. I luckily got in and even reserved the cottage featured in AH, the Firefly...so sweet! Very artsy and colorful, this one bedroom cottage has a very comfy bed, stocked kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster coffee maker, and apartment size stove/oven. Very clean, well stocked with real towels, not postage stamp sized hotel linens. Quiet and comfortable, we slept really well, relaxed and didn't rush for any reason. Never even thought about turning on the very small TV. Shared, screened in patio connects 3 of the cottages, nice place to sit in the morning with coffee and not have the bugs get you. We used the small gas grill one night for dinner. Absolutely delightful and can't wait to go back. Regina is the sweetest and has an amazing place.

We spent last weekend, Friday through Sunday in Regina's Firefly cottage. It was clean, quiet and had an amazingly well appointed kitchen. It was quiet all the time, especially at night and the birds were wonderful. Vermillion flycatchers, hummingbirds, swallows, you name it. We had planned in eating in because we had our little dog with us and I was delighted to find everything from a coffee pot, complete with coffee and toaster to cookie sheet with measuring spoons and cups. Lots of towels available and truly HOT water. We very much recommend this for a quiet weekend getaway.

We came to the Sonoita / Patagonia area for a relaxing anniversary weekend. The area is so beautiful and the wineries are fantastic! Keep an eye out on their calendar of events. |We asked our host Regina for a recommendation to a place for dinner to celebrate our anniversary... And that is where our weekend went south, literally! Do you know where TUBAC is??? Neither did we! Surely it was in the Patagonia / Sonoita region, right? I mean, who would not recommend a local business to support the rural area??? Regina would! We took her word that it wasn't that far, but it was soooo far away from the area we found ourselves getting angry at her for sending us away from the area in which we came to be in. She sent us so near the Mexico border before we had to make a turn to find ourselves driving another 15 miles on the Interstate to Tubac. GRRRRR! So what the restaurant was quaint and artistic... We felt like fools driving all that way, but we were already invested in the drive that it didn't make sense to turn around. We got there without an appetite because we were so pissed that she recommended us to go there. We ended up leaving and not eating there based on the principle of being misled. The whole experienced ruined our anniversary! We are so upset that we were bruised by this horrible recommendation to drive to another area of Arizona. Regina duped us and made the evening a disaster. Support your local places Regina! It is ethically inconsiderate to take business away from your area - no matter what occasion is being celebrated. We discovered Sonoita has wonderful places to eat.|As for the cottage (#2) that we stayed ... If you don't mind spiders and bugs, dust and cobwebs, and no hot water, then you might like to stay here. The #1 Cottage smelled like urine and #3 had a quiet long term guest. |We loved the starry starry nights! Spectacular!

We were looking for a quiet weekend escape (from the hustle bustle of Phoenix) and this place turned out great. It's five minutes from Patagonia (with restaurants and shops) but all by itself on a ranch. With burros. My wife and i stayed two nights in the Firefly cottage and it was great. It had a very comfortable bed, a large sitting room and dining area with a full kitchen. It comes with coffee (grounds), muffins, and all your basic kitchen ware. We used it as a base for wine tasting in Sonoita and Elgin, a trip to Patagonia Lake State Park, etc. It was also large enough (compared to a motel room) to just hang out, maybe read, or do a little painting (one of my hobbies).||||Regina Medley has decorated the cottages with an artists touch, and the place is chanrmgin and colorful. Perhaps the only downside is that the conversion of this building from a garage or studio resulted in an arrangement with the bathroom being in the same room as the bedroom with only some furniture and portable partitions to separate the areas. Its not a big deal but some folks with severe privacy needs may find it less than ideal. Still, for the rate charged this is a great value and I'd come here again.

I'm truly amazed more people haven't reviewed these delightful cottages. Of course, I'm not sure a lot of people have found them yet. We were fortunate to find about about these delightful places through a recent article in Arizona Highways and we just returned today from three relaxing days at these cottages. What a treasure! The cottages are a few miles outside of Patagonia on acreage with four friendly burros to welcome you. Regina, the owner and resident artist, has lovingly restored these cottages. Everything is bright, artistic and very creative. Each cottage has a full bath, full kitchen and share an Arizona room. We could also sit outside and had a grill available to us. We were in cottage #2 and even had a private courtyard in back for just our cottage. She also has a wonderful house in town she rents behind her studio. We spent a couple of days at Lake Patagonia and exploring the town but we also just kicked back and enjoyed Regina's property. The cottages were clean, airy and just fun. Friends went with us and they had cottage #3. From the moment we all arrived, we couldn't stop smiling. If you can't relax and enjoy Cross Creek Cottages and the beautiful mountain views surrounding you, there is something seriously wrong with you! We can't wait to go back.

A beautiful drive through Sonita. Very artistic, well-appointed rooms. Relaxing atmosphere. Good restaurants close by. Everything you need for a great weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Regina was a gracious host and has thought of everything. ||||Anyone reading the prior reviews should disregard the low ratings from the couple who were disgruntled that a restaurant recommendation in Tubac was too far away. They are being petty and ridiculous.

We just returned from a birding trip to AZ. We stayed 1 night @ Cross Creek. It's a great place for birds and the Butterfly Room is lovely. I stayed there two years ago. It's still very charming and I Love the pet Burros. So friendly and they really like apples. Bring a bag with you and they will be your best friends.

We really enjoyed our time at Circle Z. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Cuisine was outstanding. The Wranglers were personable and professional with very special thanks to Alice, who guided us through our rides with grace and ease.
