Cromwell Diner - Diner in Cromwell - 135 Berlin Rd, USA

First, I LOVE diners. At home or on the road, I will always try to hit a diner if I can. That said, I found Cromwell Diner to be an excellent dining option. I got my usual burger: beef, bacon, and bun and was not disappointed. For dessert, I tried the chocolate layer cake, which I thought a little dry. I should have gotten PIE! I will most definitely return.

Stopped by this morning on my way back to North Carolina. Got the breakfast tacos with sausage. The service was quick and the food tasted great! The loaded hash browns was where it was at!

Meh, it was meh..and I wanted it to be fabulous!! I adore diners..the options overwhelm a person..do I want a western omelet or Shepards pie..Deep fried something or open faced something else with coleslaw at anytime of the day..it's very clean and the wait staff is friendly..I had a cheeseburger club sandwich with tater tots ( I ate them but they were hard and crunchy) and hubs had cheese steak sandwich..this is not the diner where you walk in and see the dessert case spinning around with things baked in house..

In most cases despite the price, you can expect pretty good food from a diner. This is why we sought this one out. I had the Thanksgiving dinner. It was just OK. The stuffing was pretty bland and not very well mixed. The service was good, and the business had a nice atmosphere.

We love diners and we don't see good a lot of good ones anymore. We were across the street getting new tires put on so decided to walk over to the Diner. So glad we did. Hubby had a nice big breakfast. I had a toasted bagel. They were very prompt in bringing coffee and doing refills. The place is spotless and busy but they handled everyone very well. I noticed the outside seating with umbrellas which was a nice addition. Didn't realize they have a diner in Shelton CT which is where my Real Estate company is headquartered. You pay at the register on the way out. If you love diners this is a good one for sure!

I ordered the corn beef hash with eggs and pancakes. The pancakes and eggs came with the meal. This is important information. I took two bites of the eggs, then one bite of the pancakes. They were fine. I took two bites of the corn beef hash, and immediately did not feel well. I ended up rushing to the bathroom and had to throw up. Someone was in the single stall so I had to throw up in an urinal. I was certain the corn beef hash was the problem. As I came out of the bathroom, my girlfriend suggested we leave since I wasn't feeling well. The waitress came over and said she would speak with her manager to rectify the problem. She came back shortly after saying they are remaking the food. I told the waitress I didn't want another order and instead we would take the check so we could leave since I wasn't feeling well. I also informed her that I threw up in the urinal so they could have their cleaning staff take care of it. I went outside to get some air because I was having trouble breathing. Come to find out, we were still charged for the pancakes, and eggs. Instead of comping the meal that literally made me sick after a couple bites, they removed the corn beef hash meal and then charged us for separate orders or pancakes and eggs which we did not take home. We ended up being charged more than what the meal actually cost. The diner made me pay extra for a meal that literally made me sick. This is the first time we've ever had a bad experience at this diner and the staff and management did not handle it well.

Cromwell Diner did not disappoint! My husband ended up going here two days in a row when we were in town for a family wedding. The outside kind of looks like a Denny's, but don't be fooled, even without the classic old school diner look this place is still excellent. We ended up coming here with a party of 10 at 11 AM on Sunday and were seated without hesitation. But it wasn't empty either! I recommend the "Big Cromwell Breakfast" for a good deal.

I took the kids out for Brunch and I can say the food was Delicious I ordered a Homemade Chicken Pot Pie one of my kids had Chicken and waffles the other one had biscuits with gravy, eggs and home fries. The service was great definitely family friendly we will definitely be back to eat here...
