We loved everything about this place. Quirky, colorful, and historically old with tons of artwork everywhere. Lots of personality. Our room was super cute and we slept comfortably in the bed. We enjoyed hanging out on the private balcony. They are super pet friendly which is fantastic. Breakfast is good and if you ask nicely Ms. Anne will cook you some eggs in your preferred way. Everybody is so so friendly and welcoming that they have us convinced that we need to come back. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Everything is highly walkable. If you really like walking you can walk to the French quarter but otherwise the streetcar is a very short walk away. Magazine Street is right there as well. If you are put off by creaky old houses this is not the place for you. We however have never been so glad that we chose to not book at a chain hotel. Looks like they are expanding to the nearby buildings, were excited to see what the outcome of that will be. We'll be back for sure!
My husband and I were on holiday from the UK and stayed for 2 nights in October. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. |First the shout outs…to Keith who when we told our paddle boat steamer trip had been cancelled by the operator, said leave it with him and around 15minutes after our check in had found availability on another trip and had sent us the link to rebook. Thank you Keith. And to Annie who cooked for breakfast the best grits we had on our whole month long trip. Thank you Annie.|So to our stay…we mailed a week ahead to say that we would be arriving in NOLA earlier than we first thought as we had booked a tour. Would it be possible to check in earlier? A prompt reply in the affirmative. Great customer service IMO. Our room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The breakfast plentiful and lots of choice. The location was quiet and safe and convenient for the French Quarter. A bit further out than we wanted to walk. But not a problem as the tram stop was literally one block around the corner. We found Creole Gardens to be very friendly and welcoming with a lovely vibe and would not hesitate in recommending staying here. Wishing you all the best.||
My friends and I love the Creole Gardens. It's like a great backyard oasis. It gets high marks for charm & personal service. The owner and staff are friendly and always around to chat and provide insight to the city. Annie serves up tasty, simple southern breakfasts then becomes "Queen Annie" and spins tunes in The Roadhouse some nights. You could talk with her about New Orleans music for days. The place isn't fancy. The regular rooms are small, quaint, quirky, and very charming and their themed rooms add a dose of N'Awlins flair. The location is convenient; walking distance to many cool places in the district and the St. Charles streetcars are just behind the hotel for a fun, easy ride to the French Quarter. Creole Gardens is comfortable and easy-going. If you're looking for the feel of the city, not a posh luxury hotel, this is the place. ✌️😎
If you love excellent customer service, this is the place for you!! The hosts were so personable. They took the time to get to know each guest and shared experiences. We had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving with Ms. Annie and Ms. Andrea. It was just like having Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Might I add, there was no charge for Thanksgiving dinner. Friday night, we got to experience DJ Annie. What a great time! The rooms are very nostalgic. Not your modern hotel setup. Don’t expect to find charging stations for your devices, or the modern conveniences you are accustomed to. I highly recommend the Creole Gardens for the perfect nostalgic visit!
I consider Creole Gardens the perfect place to stay in New Orleans. The management is beyond amazing- even with my three cats, we felt so welcomed. It is hard finding lodging that accepts animals (especially three!) and at a reasonable rate, so Creole Gardens was a lifesaver during our move across country. ||The place is also beautiful; it looks like a tropical paradise. Our cottage room was absolutely lovely and comfortable. It came with a little fridge that was super helpful. Parking was also included and right next to the property… fantastic. Breakfast was great, too. The location, while not in the FQ, is near ideal for exploring all of New Orleans. Public transit was readily available if needed. I can’t recommed Creole Gardens enough!
We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more during our stay here. If ever back in New Orleans we would definitely stay again! The rooms are gorgeously appointed and the staff is welcoming and warm. Felt like we were staying with friends. The historic home and grounds added a unique local experience that you cannot get at a chain hotel. We will miss it!
Such a cute place!! So so easy to take the street car to the French quarter but felt safe leaving my car on the street in this neighborhood. The hosts are amazing and the free breakfast is way better than hotel breakfast!! 10/10 recommend staying here
Wonderful 4 day stay in the 1840s mansion that is the Creole Gardens hotel. In the Garden District only one block from the trolley. I always felt more like a friend than a guest. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable that I hated to leave. The price is so right compared to the outrageous hotel prices in New Orleans. Great breakfast shared with staff who had many great stories to tell. I hope that I will be able to come back again sometime real soon. Loved it, try it, you will also love it.

We had such a wonderful time staying at The Inn. We were greeted by our wonderful host⦠I mean warden. Todd was great and walked us around the jail, showing us where everything was. He had great suggestions for where to eat and shop. The kitchen ha
This is the cutest hotel. Our room was a lot bigger than we initially thought it would be. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our TV the first night. We had plans to explore during the day and then go to dinner at night
I cannot give this venue high enough praise. The venue is absolutely stunning and you can tell the owners care a lot about making it a great space. The staff was accommodating, helpful, gracious, and friendly.
The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
Excellent accommodations! Though basic and simple, the rooms are spacious, clean, and sufficient. The beds are very comfortable. A NICE amenity was the over-sized fridge in each room. Thereâs a microwave in the common area also. Convenient and safe
This hotel was the reason I booked a trip to New Orleans- and it did not disappoint. It provided such a unique experience and added so much more depth to our vacation. In order to appreciate it fully, be sure and go to the hotel website, and click

Got married here and rented out all of the rooms. They were all different, charming and the perfect setting for our weekend. Great staff, easy to work with. Nothing like getting married on the front steps of The Columns in March!
Great hotel with old world charm. Clean tastefully decorated rooms. The Carousel Bar is lively and packed at all hours. The location in the French Quarter is convenient and a pleasant stroll to the many cool shops and eateries in the area. A coup
AMAZING HOTEL!!! We stayed here in November of 2023. We had an awesome experience. The hotel is an old family home so there are only 19 rooms and it feels like you are staying in-house as opposed to a hotel. the rooms are very spacious, very clean an

This was one of my favorite museums during my visit. I learned so much. Didn't know about the free People of Color in Louisiana. Imagine if they had been allowed to thrive... how different America would be today.
Of all the trees in City Park the McDonough Oak is likely the oldest and the most majestic. The huge branches have sagged to the ground under their own weight and over time. This tree stood in an ancient forest on this spot long before Europeans arri
