Everything about Crenshaw Guest House exceeded our expectations!|The property is very convenient to town and within walking distance to several wonderful restaurants. The house is historic and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious both days….even shared a couple of recipes! Erica and Virginia Kate greeted us and were gracious and generous with suggestions.|Our rooms were large and comfortable and had everything we needed. |It was a quiet retreat with many extra details. On a cooler weekend we would have loved the outdoor area.|Guess we’ll have to return!
I had an emergency trip to Auburn and this wonderful guest house came through for me. They had a lovely room, and best of all, I had a quiet relaxing night which was just what was needed. Super breakfast the next morning - and they were so accommodating so that I could get back to the vet school quickly. Highly recommend for any travel! I'd love to come back and stay when its not an emergency.
Everything was wonderful for our family gathering in Auburn. Perfect location. Beautiful grounds and decor - we loved looking through the Glomeratas (yearbooks) to find photos of loved ones. There are lots of extra touches like fresh flowers and candy all around, stocked fridges with soda and water, and cookies. We enjoyed gathering on the back porch and/or in the garden room to catch-up with family we don't get to see often. The rooms are very clean and spacious with lots of pillows and very comfortable beds. Robes and Dyson hair dryers are a nice touch. We stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms with our pet, but we didn't miss any of the charm. The breakfast was delicious and different each morning we were there. More than enough to eat. The staff was very accommodating to make sure we all were taken care of. When one of my cousins mentioned he may want to use the fire pit that night, Erica pulled together a basket of s'mores supplies for us and left it out for our use. My nephews enjoyed throwing the football in the back and walking to Downtown to get a milkshake. Even our dog had a welcome basket waiting for him upon our arrival! |Not an issue with the Crenshaw House, but if you are not familiar with Auburn, College Street can be busy and a bit noisy, and like any place near downtown, you will hear the train at night. We think it adds to the charm. |Thank you for helping to make a very special family weekend even better.
AU parents, you're wasting your money on hotels. One stay at Crenshaw house and you'll never want to stay anywhere else in Auburn again. Erica and her staff are friendly, attentive and utterly professional. The rooms are amazing and the food is exceptional. Highly recommend.
Don't miss this place to stay on your visit to Auburn. My husband and I stopped in Auburn on our way across Alabama. This was the best place on our week trip. The staff welcoming. Fresh cookies, coffee, tea, water available. We're still dreaming of the amazing breakfast. Close to campus and places to eat/drink after long day in the car. Do yourself a favor and enjoy Crenshaw Guest House.
We decided to stay here for a visit to Auburn when we had a hard time finding a hotel near the campus with availability. Wow! Moving forward, this will be the FIRST place we check. ||We stayed in the Samford room in the back of the property and it was so perfect for our family of 3. First, we had a fabulous king bed and our son had a wonderful plush sofa/pull out that was amazing! ||The refrigerator was stocked with drinks and there were fresh, cut flowers on the bed side tables. ||Breakfast in the main house was delicious and everyone was so welcoming. ||Hidden gem! If our son decides to attend Auburn, we will definitely be back!
We especially enjoyed the backyard hammocks and delicious breakfast! We had 3 kids ages 1-8 with us and the cottage was a great fit for our family. Kids loved the loft bed! They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Yard was clean and great to play and relax in.
Don't make the mistake of going to a hotel... Crenshaw House is a great place with a delicious fresh-made breakfast and Mary Jo and Erica were super hosts. We (three) stayed in the Thach Room (Carriage Study) and we were very comfortable. The Thach (and the main house) has lots of character and sleeps well. Parking is convenient/right outside the house. Will try to book/stay again if we get to come back to Auburn.
