7/23: Maybe we just visited at a bad time (summer Friday night) but while the environment was interesting and fun, the service and food were just average, if not a hair below. We had to grab the attention of a server to order our entree, and had empty cups for most of the meal. The food was priced to be spectacular and left each of us (party of 4) disappointed, even the kid’s chicken tenders. The catfish was flavorless; the burger was a plain burger; but the pork was at least aesthetically pleasing. Likely wouldn’t recommend.

Lots of potential with a pretty great space staffed by a collection of eccentric characters type place. Think college. As was in college, I was into this somewhat crazy scene then, but today, I’d prefer something either a little more refined or edgier. This place def can use some scrubbing a-la Joan Crawford. They should push the camp to the max where every single item, drink, corner, and molecule is screaming and serving face.

Absolutely quick & delicious food, great service, and loved the performance by Tara Hoot. Came Sunday right when they opened at 10am, and it was perfect since it really picked up and was packed by 11am. Shane, the owner, was also very friendly and introduced himself to every table. Crazy Aunt Helen’s has very cozy, welcoming, and whimsical vibes. Perfect for a date or casual brunch. Love that they have mocktails as well, Provence was delicious although not hot.

A wonderful local spot. The live shows they have here are always entertaining and the performers great. The food is much better than what you get at other places with live entertainment. There is an obvious nod to southern cuisine, which I love! Be sure to get the Pink Squirrel cocktail as your after dinner beverage, you will not regret it!! The staff here has always been upbeat, which tells me they also try to treat their staff well.

This looks like a simple breakfast, but nothing compares to how it actually tasted. Loaded grits + 2 Egg & Bacon (w grapefruit juice)… divine! I would give up a lot just to have those potatoes again—delicious. We had such a great brunch that we came back the next day for round 2. The servers are sweet and the entire establishment just feels like home. The owner is a gem. We’ll definitely be back!

My crew ordered takeout from Crazy Aunt Helen’s on a May Friday night and it was a good experience. I called to place my order and it was ready within 20-25 minutes. I paid when I got there and walked out with a warm meal. My five-year-old daughter enjoyed the chicken fingers and mac and cheese, which could feed two kids. The fried chicken sandwich was very tasty, but the fries it came with were just okay. They needed more flavor like salt. My friends loved the fish sammie, catfish and burger!

I’ve fallen in love. Went to Crazy Aunt Helen’s for an early Saturday brunch (10am). First, walking inside felt like a warm hug. The ambiance, decor, music and overall energy of the staff was so inviting and welcoming. Though it my first visit, I felt like a regular. I was grateful to experience all their covid safety protocols (vaxx proof, masked team members, seating spacing); it made my dining experience that much more delightful. I enjoyed a hot mug of coffee and waited for the catfish savory plate. My friend and I quickly quieted when our food arrived. The kitchen didn’t have to snap like they did on our meals. The catfish is fried perfectly, the grits seasoned and smooth, and the accompanying salad was the perfect complement to an already delicious dish (I mean, the pickled onions and fresh dill?!?). I cannot wait to return back to see the community that is Crazy Aunt Helen’s!

Went here for brunch with friends and was very impressed! The interior envelopes you with what feels like new orleans french quarter and the atmosphere is so inviting and welcoming you feel like you are at a family members home. The owner was very active in greeting and making sure everyone was well taken care of and satisfied and the staff was top notch making excellent drinks and serving ipsome of the best food I've had on the East coast thus far! The catfish was perfectly seasoned and needed no additions not even hot sauce! And the grits were creamy and had the right consistency that is rare for many restaurants to nail, and the drag show was very entertaining but not intrusive to the dining experience! Overall this is definitely my new brunch spot and i will continue to bring friends and visiting family here every time! Don't miss out on the gem! 10 stars easily!
