Cravings Tapas Bistro - Tapas restaurant in Ridgewood - 8 Wilsey Square, USA

I’m not the type to leave reviews but I have to say this place is amazing. The hostess and our server Carlos were very welcoming and always around if we needed anything. The food was very good especially the steak bowl special. And for desert the tres leches dessert was outstanding. i’ll 100% come again and will recommend my family and friends to come.

We went to this place yesterday to celebrate a birthday. Reservation is a must if one visits on Friday or Saturday evenings. There was not much wait for the food. The truffle fries, onion rings and paella were loved by everyone. We also ordered chicken empanada and croquettes which were okay. The best part of dinner was perhaps the dessert, we got the bread pudding and tres leches cake, which were exceptional. Soft, moist cake and a perfect blend of warmth of the pudding and coolness from the ice cream on top.

Went for dinner w two others on a Tuesday at 6pm. There was only one person working and he was doing a lot. Unfortunately this place has just gone down hill. The food was cold. It was clearly pre made and they just heated up because it came out so fast and was not hot. Also it was pretty over priced for the portion size. Hopefully it was just an off night!

Beautiful intimate romantic kind of restaurant. The food was done right, with style and flare. Flavors are bright, and the lights are low. The service was clear and on it. Great experience overall. We Will be back.

Wow. I’ve lived in Hawthorne for almost 6 years and struggle to bring myself to mutter the words “let’s go eat in Ridgewood.” Idk. Feels like a chore. So, this evening, when I was hellbent on eating a pie of some sort (it’s Pi Day, people), I decided to eat at a restaurant featuring a locally famous chicken pot pie…that’s apparently closed (no web updates, even called 3 times to hear a voicemail tell some lies…ugh Covid aftermath world.) Since already in Ridgewood scoping out the place that’s closed, I figured I’d find another delicious looking place in town and eat with or without pie. After noticing Cravings - which I definitely drooled over online before (but never physically step foot into), I said you know what, it’s time. And again…wow. Every single thing we tried was next level. First dish…onion rings. How can onion rings be mind blowing?!? They were. The pulpo….perfection. The Philly cheesesteak empanadas…don’t bother going to Philly ever cause it ain’t worth the ride - and guess what that’s a HAND PIE π!!! And the gnocchi…I’ve never had a more perfect pillowy cloud-like gnocchi…it’s like what they talk about on the food network that the iron chefs make and you think…I’ll never eat anything that good in my life. You will. Come here. Can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu!!! ❤️

Had a girls night out here and enjoyed the tapas. We got the sangria which was really fresh and tasty. I got the paella, which was great and more than enough for me. My friends also got the tuna tartar, gnocchi, truffle fries and shrimp, all of which I would recommend. I got the chocolate lava cake for dessert, and this was the only disappointing part because the cake felt old and dry

This is one of my favorite places for a girls night out . I love the small plates / tapas -you can order anything from the menu and it won’t disappoint ever . BYOB and they will make a sangria with your wine/ love that option as well..

I came here with my husband for a nice quiet dinner. It was our first time here. It’s BYOB so we were able to bring our own bottle of wine. The service and staff are great. We were seated right away and offered water. The waiter gave us a run down of the menu and suggested we order 3 tapas person and that we could always orders more. We ordered Philly cheese steak empanadas, the shrimp with guac and plantain chips, and hummus. The empanadas were two small ones, the shrimp were 3 shrimp on a plantain chip with a little bit of guac, and the hummus was served with naan bread. The food was okay. We then ordered a paella marinera (seafood) that was highly recommended by the waiter. My husband and I were not impressed by the food, none of the dishes were bursting with flavor or memorable. The hummus was okay, the paella was not authentic, and empanadas were over priced. He and I finished our bottle of wine and considered stopping somewhere else to satisfy our bellies but it had already gotten too late. We didn’t even bother getting dessert. What I find with places that offer foods of different cultures is that they are expert in none, so none of them were “great”. Like I said , the place is chill and the staff is nice. I don’t think we will be returning here at all. There are other places with better tasting food that will fill your belly for the price and have the same atmosphere.
