Don't believe any of the naysayers about this technology!!! Our baby had very bad head shape issues that needed correction. We debated for a few months hoping it would self correct as our pediatrician said it would- and nothing was happening. We decided to come in for a free consultation. It was obvious when they used their multiple camera to take surface 3-D image of the headshape and confirmed how we felt about his head shape the whole time. It is not always apparent since the hair is confounding the evaluation. They place a stocking w/ a hole in the front and the 3-D images and our initial consultation w Katherine McCoy- who is extremely knowlegable and instills confidence-- made us decide to puruse the Doc Band. We saw Amanda Welk as the clinican there and she is beyond kind, patient, warm, knowledgeable. We had another clinician and switched all our visits over the Amanda because she isn't only competent, but reassuring and kind with every interaction we've had with her. Ten weeks later-- he graduated today. The before and after pictures show a much pronounced rounded head in the back and also more symmetrical left/right sides. Unless you've experienced it, seen the progress with every 2 week visit, and experienced the final outcome-- you really don't know how wonderful the Doc Band is and how life-changing Cranial Technologies can be for your child. It's more than just head shape but provides facial symmetry for your child. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend Cranial Technologies and this Mineola branch to anyone. The front desk were also very kind, facility is spacious/clean and appointments very punctual. Highly recommend this place and Amanda Welk!!!

The cranial technology team has been amazing with this process of getting my son a helmet due to his plagiocephaly. With the help of Sonam and Amanda, each visit was informative, and I felt as though they cared dearly on how my son was progressing. Today he graduated and no longer needs a helmet. We will miss our visits. They were able to see him grow from a baby to a toddler. Thank you all for the amazing work! 💙

The Mineola team could not have made mine and my child’s journey at Cranial Technology better. They made us feel so welcomed and guided us through everything. Sonam is the best! Cranial technologies is incredible! Amanda W. Helped changed my baby’s head shape faster than we could have imagined. She was so gentle with my baby and always reassured us as parents that my child was doing great and moving in the right direction. PLEASE educate yourself - don’t take other people’s word for it. Take your child to a neurosurgeon to get a second opinion. I’m SO grateful that I read comments here. I was very against the helmet and I took my child to a neurosurgeon at Long Island Neurosurgical Associates PC and Dr.Rogers confirmed that my baby is fine. She has brachycephaly BUT he said to increase tummy time , keep her head away from flat side and everything will be fine. I also use the “tortle “ it’s a head cap to help my baby. STUDIES show that the helmet doesn’t do much . Again- please please consult a neurosurgeon before you decide to put this helmet on your child.

I would like to share my impression about today. For the first time my baby had ms. Kathryn - Mineola adjusting her helmet and the experience was outstanding. She was courteous, playful with my baby and explained with details about the improvement of my baby’s head shape. She Opened the computer with the photos, measure everything always explaining and verbalizing what did change.

Had a great experience thus far. First of, the facility is easily accessible and very neat and clean. Staff is nice and efficient. Our occupational therapist was Sonam Shah who is great. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. After scanning our baby’s head, Sonam came in (minimal wait time) and explained everything with great detail. She explained everything in a way one can understand. She gave her opinion on the next steps, but also allowed us autonomy. You can tell she truly cares for her patient and is kind and compassionate. I am grateful to be working with her.

A big shout out to Team Mineola ! They are always courtesy and pleasant to work with especially Sonam. She’s our technician and did a fantastic job on fixing my son’s flat. Go get your little one a free consultation if you are concerned.
