Crackpots - Pottery store in Longmont - 505 Main St, USA

So fun! Can’t believe I haven’t come in sooner. My homeschool group had a great time selecting and painting our items. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and flexible with the needs of our group. My kiddo and I will definitely be back!

I let my husband know that I'd be going to "Crackpots" for a church group function; his reply, "Oh good, you'll fit right in!"🤪😂 This was my first time at the unusual and artistically entertaining venue. A long with me, there was a fairly large group of other "Crackpots", young and not so young, who were also interested in the art of painting ceramics. An artisan employee came into our separate party room to explain how the system worked; she explained sweetly and thoroughly how to add the colors and what brushes to use. There was no time to lose in my quest to find the perfect little ceramic item to paint in an allotted time. The whole group and I trotted on over to the amply supplied shelves to search for items for each of us to paint; since we had to keep the cost down, I believe we all chose wisely. Most of the kids in our group decided upon coffee mugs, among a few other neat little things that were approved for the price. I had a tough time making a decision, but finally chose the cute little baby dragon. I don't know why, but that's what I picked. I realized that I had to choose paint and brushes, etc., so I headed to the paint section, where there's a miriad of colors. They're lined up on shelves about 4 bottles deep, so I didn't have trouble finding colors. I did have to share the skinny writer tips with one person in our group, but didn't use much of it, anyway. What I didn't realize, is that I chose a more complex item which required a little extra time to paint the details. Message to self: "Next time, choose something simpler for time restraints." Ah ha! Well, I finished my little dragon in the nick of time, then my group had to clean up their area. So, it was off to the sinks (sure wish they had another one) to clean all the brushes, pallettes, etc. Our group was told to leave each of our projects on the counter in a certain spot, and the folks there would glaze and fire them. Wow, the items were ready by the time we had the recap of our church community event a week later. I really had no idea what my "whittle dragon" would turn out to look like, but when I saw it, this "Crackpot" was a happy camper---even though my own tail was "dragon" a "whittle."🐉🥴 I highly recommend this place for a fun girl's day, family outing, or whatever event you can celebrate--and you'll even have something fun to show for it, afterwards!

Fantastic customer care. Each person who helped us was patient and helpful. Fantastic experience. If you have decision fatigue, you may want to pick out your project online before you go. To ensure success, start with something where you don't have to do detail work or use small brushes.

We love this place! Friendly smiling helpful staff always!! You can bring in your own snacks which is great because it always takes me much longer to paint than I expect! Excellent restaurants within very short walking distances also.

Our whole family LOVES spending time at Crackpots. My daughters (6 & 9) can spend 2 solid hours working on their masterpieces and I love watching them use their creativity! Hands down one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon/evening.

The holiday event was amazing! Thank you Crack Pot's and Mrs. Clause, both of my kiddos had an amazing time! We plan to register for other events in the future.

We have so much fun and Mrs.Claus is amazing. My daughter’s favorite Christmas activity.
