Cracklin' Jack's - Featured Reviews (1431)
Weekly Date-Day with my beautiful wife. She loves goats so we stopped by Good Mood Ranch before heading over. After seeing some good reviews in this group, we figured we'd give it a try. It was pretty slow. Not sure if this is normal for a Sunday or not but, I'll find out why later, Lol. We started off with the Deep Fried Pickles and Deep Fried Okra which were really good even though both dipping sauces were the same. We'd definitley order those again. I like that they used sweet pickles instead of regular Dill pickles. Angela ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the combo plate with Brisket and Baby-back ribs. Before I get to how the main dishes were, I'd like to point out that I asked our server (who was great BTW) when they smoked the meats. Was it this morning, yesterday, or earlier in the week? I told her about our bad experience with "Old-Tasting meat" at Off-The-Bone and she advised that the meats were smoked/BBQ'd the day before. Okay, IMHO, a real BBQ joint smokes their meats the late the night before or the morning of. Anything before that should not be served as BBQ. Just my opinion. The pulled pork sandwich was just Okay. my wife said it was dry and was definitely not fresh, like it was smoked the day or so before. Instead of baby back ribs, I was served beef ribs which I do not like. Our awesome server made the exchange and apologized. I took one bite into the ribs and couldn't even swallow it and put it back on the plate. It was dry/over-cooked, had been re-heated, and tasted like it was a few days old, like a re-heated hamburger tastes. The Brisket was just so-so. It was also dry and re-heated but, I was hungry and ate it anyway. I was really wanting to be able to leave a review of how great the BBQ here was but, I'm really wondering if finding a BBQ joint in Naples, where the meats are smoked the morning of, is even possible. I'm also wondering if there are that many people that just don't know how real BBQ is supposed to taste. Or maybe they were lucky to have ate here on the day is was actually smoked. Where to eat next Sunday is the bigger question. Well, at least my wife got to feed and pet some goats today and we always have a great time hanging out. Happy eating Peeps!
My daughter and I were looking for a wholesome tasty lunch and decided to try Cracklin Jack's. We had never been there but had seen it under renovations. It was fantastic!! It is a bit out of the way but worth it. We sat outside, where there is smoking and non smoking areas. The smell of cigarettes and cigar was felt but did not bother us. The server was excellent, came immediately, was cordial and patient. The portions were very generous and the price is right. We shared an appetizer, fried green tomatoes. My daughter ordered an oyster basket that was delicious, and I ordered fried chicken, which I believe it was the best that I have ever tried . We are planning to go back many times!!
Marcy at the bar was amazing. She knew exactly how to make our 25 mo th celebration unforgettable with those double doubles on the double!!! ✌🏼😂😆 But seriously, the catfish bites app was really good with unforgettable cornmeal inspired breading, and the fried chicken with crispy skin!!! Totally worth the trip and stopping in to check out this old Florida institution.
Wanted to eat frog legs and alligator so we hit this spot up. Was told by others what they served. From when we entered until our order was taken, it took 35 mins. Was told they were short staff but still that’s is a bit much. Frog legs and alligator are good. The place can use a good dusting, but the men’s restroom was surprisingly clean. If your in the area and want frog legs and alligator I would recommend this establishment if your in the area.
Food was average, not very flavorful. Chicken tenders were overcooked. Our server was nice and efficient. The tiki bar is a nice space, but be aware that all but about 10 tables allow smoking. This is a big deterrent to us.
Food was great 👍 we had country fried steak, onion rings and hamburger sliders just that the service wasn't too good. Our first time there the waiter didn't tell us about the salad bar but later we hear the same waiter telling the other guest everything about the salad bar smh 🤦.
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 10 in the tiki area. It was cold and windy, so they cranked up the portable heaters and made us comfortable. Excellent customer service!
Food is good and portions are plentiful. Our server was super busy but pleasant. The tiki hut is pretty cool and they have a bar and TV back there. Only thing is people smoke back there if that bothers you. They have indoor seating if so.
I discovered this location about a month ago when looking for a spot to exercise. First and foremost, I'd like to thank my coach Zach who owns this place as-well. Let me now explain why I chose this location over others. I'm not someone who enjoys g
