Our Lunch Buddies where Celebrating a Beautiful Lady’s Birthday. Her choice of the restaurant was Cracker Barrel. Had an Awesome Server, Candy, when we come back we are definitely asking for her again. Our meal was good but Candy was so professional, patient and was so on top of all our requests it made for an exceptional experience! Food was good, hot, and plenty of it. Candy told us about the $5.00 take away meal so my husband is having the yummy meatloaf tonight for dinner.

Our server was great. I wish I could remember her name. Refills always there. Brought all the missing items. Food took almost an hour and a half to cook for a party of five. Cracker Barrel’s look and decor is the same it’s always been. Cluttered old timey farm antique shop slash diner. Nothing to be impressed by. But this was one of the worst experiences in meals we’ve had since coming back after they have reduced and changed their menus and food options. Before you’d have almost three menus. A breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu. Now it’s all one. I ordered the Home style chicken and French toast. On the menu and website it looks to be a chicken patty breaded and deep fried with 3 sliced in half French toasted slices of bread. Mine was two chicken tenders (they tasted fine) and what tasted and looked to be some premade frozen bread like gummy substitute. Those tasted horrible. I’d almost bet money they’re frozen and nuked before hitting my plate. Before the French toast on either side would fit together showing that normal bread shape. I had what looked to be like rounded pancakes and triangle slices. None of which fit together. Not sure what it was to be honest. On the pluses. Beer was ok. $3.99 for a can of Miller lite seems excessive. Especially when it’s $0.69 a can from a 30 pack from the store. Won’t be back for a while if not at all. Seriously. This food isn’t that hard to make.

We had been in meetings all day and decided to try out cracker barrel for dinner - I haven't been to a cracker barrel in several years - we went in and it was all decked out for Christmas and had Christmas music playing low in the background - we shopped a little and we were seated - one had breakfast - one had a big salad - and I had the chicken n dumplings - and everything was delicious!! The servings were huge - I brought most of mine back to the hotel to have later tonight 😋😋 Our server was very nice - checked on us a few times to see how everything was... The prices were not nearly as high as I thought it would be - we spent about $10 per person... I will definitely not be waiting that long to go back!! It was really good!!! 🙂

Our waitress looked to be college-aged, and we gave her words of praise, as well as a nice tip to encourage her wonderful service and great disposition. Also, the retail shop manager was very helpful and reminded us of our CB Rewards and explained them to us.

Our waitress was not as efficient as we would have liked. We had to ask her 3 times for chow chow. She should have asked if we wanted extra napkins, or a dessert. She was gone much longer than necessary to bring us the above items. She was in a hurry to leave our table like her mind was on something else. She was polite and did bring everything we asked of her. We left feeling she was not well or perhaps new. The Fried Chicken, the four piece was over cooked and too dark. I told her when I placed my order that I had ordered this item previously and it was too dark, she did not reply. When it came I told her it was too dark and over cooked, she again did not reply when I pointed that out to her. I came close to sending it back and ordering something else. but it took quite a while to get our food and I did not want my husband to have a long wait. My silverware was dirty and I asked her to replace it which she did. I thought she would have offered a comment like. "sorry about that." She said, nothing.

We arrived, were seated and then no one came to bring water or coffee. Once a server arrived she seemed irritated to wait on us and then when we didn't order food with the water she was huffy. When the actual server arrived she was pleasant and attentive. Food was good, I had the 4 veggies for $7.99, and the table also ordered fried chicken livers and pot roast, and the meal I ordered for the dogs was greatly appreciated.

The food was good and the store was clean but the service was not good at all. The waitress was not that busy at all and she was only at our table 3 times total. One to take our order then the bring our food out and my wife actually had to ask her to get me a refill on my drink then the last time she was at our table was to bring us the bill. The cashier ask me how everything was and I told her the food was good but.... and she said to me not so good on the service? I told her no the service was lacking and she said to me she's not even busy. We will go back but we will definitely be hoping for a different waitress.
