Cracker Barrel Old Country Store - American restaurant in Santa Maria - 905 Betteravia Rd, USA

Located just a short distance off the freeway. It’s easy access for the traveler looking for comfort food. We were seated right away, and our friendly Server came over to take our drink order. She was very personable and attentive. I ordered the meatloaf, which is about 2 inches thick, and probably weighed nearly a pound, slightly exaggerated. Along with mashed potatoes and carrots. The meatloaf was what mother used to make. Flavorful and filling. Fried chicken had a crispy crust on it. It was cooked just right. Plump and juicy. It was like grandmother used to make. I have eaten at several Cracker Barrel, and six different states, and I would say this one ranks at the top.

I ate Barrel Bite Duo, these were delicious. The staff was very friendly. And I like this Cracker Barrel atmosphere and set-up.

Wonderful food matched by wonderful service. If you love Comfort food, you have to eat here. Definitely get an order of biscuit beignets!

Classic comfort food with great portions that are shareable. Can’t go wrong with chicken and biscuits and gravy, or their pancake breakfast. All-around great service

Went here for lunch today. I've been a handful of times in the past and it was pretty good each time. I think I expected a little more from the chicken fried steak. But it wasn't bad. We order fried pickles for an appetizer. Those were really good!! My hubby got the new buttermilk Mac and cheese entree and he really enjoyed it as well. My uncle for the sampler app and my mom enjoy a very tender ham. There server's have always seemed nice. It's a good spot for some comfort food. :)

Had the grandma sampler, two pancakes, two eggs, bacon slice, sausage slice and a little ham piece, it was good, but nothing out of this world. But it was great for the price. The staff was great. Very curious and helpful. And the store was a lot of fun to shop and browse around in, just wish there were more sizes available with the current items.

I've worked for Cracker Barrel and also eaten at different Cracker Barrel locations. To get a taste of what Cracker Barrel is really known for visit locations either in southeastern or Midwest states. There probably are other great locations but that's where I can assure great food! Simply because California Cracker Barrels just aren't getting it! This was my second attempt trying to eat at this location but regret giving it another chance. I stopped into this location on Thanksgiving because my family and I didn't want to cook but wanted some good Thanksgiving food. Being that I've eaten so much Cracker Barrel food when I worked there I just knew it would be good. Boy was I mistaken! We drove three hours specifically to eat there. Retail and cashier employees were doing what they're supposed to be doing being polite and welcoming us in. Hostesses were great as well and we got seated pretty quickly. Both stars are only due to front of the house staff! Once our server came to the table I knew that it was going to go left. She wasn't sure what was on the holiday menu so I had to guide her. We asked for a straw 3 times before we got it. She said she was going to cut a lemon for us since there weren't any precut. Let's just say I'm still waiting on the darn lemon. She never checked on us to ask how things were or if we needed any refills. She was trying to clean our table before asking if we'd like dessert or had even gotten up from the table. We literally had just finished eating. There was more that went wrong but those are a few of the things that happened . When we visited it was steady but not slammed so I'm unsure what the problem was. I usually give lots of grace because I've worked at Cracker Barrel and I know how tough it can be when you get slammed or have difficult guests. However, you definitely need to retrain this waitress. About the food it was mediocre. The cook was very stingy with the gravy and the dressing and biscuits were more dry than a desert. Mashed potatoes runny but they were edible. At least the Fried turkey was good. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place. It's beyond me why this location has a 4 star rating.
