Cracker Barrel Old Country Store - American restaurant in West Valley City - 2283 City Center Ct, USA

Stop by yesterday to have dinner with some family. We did have to wait 20 minutes(not a horrible wait) because we were a party of 8. Once we were seated our server was quick to get all our beverages ordered. I originally ordered the meatloaf meal but was told after I had ordered that they were out. Not the end of the world so I changed my order to the chicken fried steak with a side of coleslaw and broccoli. Still very good and enjoyable. My fiancé ordered the steak dinner and he was disappointed on how small the steak was and it was cooked well done vs medium rare like he had asked. Our kids both got grilled cheese and they both seemed to enjoy their meal.

The store is always so much fun to go through, and I love that they have candy. You can't find other places. The chicken fried chicken is so good, but the mash potatoes weren't that great, and the biscuits were OK. My kids loved their mini cheeseburgers. I loved that you could pick out a free dessert for your birthday.

I have to say, I didn't expect much from this place, especially after going in. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the food and wait staff. Their tater tots were hands down the best I've ever had. Their outside is crispy, but the inside was soft and amazing. Holy hell they were good. The pancakes were also amazing. The steak tips were alright, and so were the biscuits.

We love the pancakes here and the shopping of course. My hubby had the pancake tacos… I wanted to say I’m always impressed how clean their restrooms are. They are spotless!!

Loved my food and prices were fantastic. Took a very long time before a waitress came to my table. The only issue I ever really have is the noise level there.

My daughter and I went here to celebrate my deceased mother’s birthday on 11/6/23. There was barely anyone there and it took forever for someone to even come to take our order. The waitress finally came and was very nice. We waited at least another 20 minutes to even get the biscuits. After that, she brought my drink, but not my daughter’s. We waited at least another 30 minutes for our appetizers and they were the wrong thing when she brought them. We told her and asked to speak to the manager. The manager Cesar came to our table to see what was wrong and we told him that it had been taking too long. He proceeded to talk rudely to me and would talk right over me. My daughter was the only one able to get a word in edgewise. He made the excuse that because they make everything fresh, it takes longer. Well it had already been an hour. After the manager left, the waitress came out and told us that they did not have what we had ordered. We were very frustrated and asked for the manager again. He came back and said they could fix something else, but then he insisted that we hurry up and decide what we wanted so they could get started. By that time we had both lost our appetite and didn’t want anything. He insisted on getting us something, so we got the country fried steak. He also offered not to charge us for one of our meals and give us free desserts. At that point, not only did we not want to eat, but it was too late to go shopping in their store, which we had looked forward to and done in the past. Well we took all of our food including the desserts home, because we no longer wanted them and we really didn’t know what else to do with them. We also had ordered some appetizers that we never received as well. It was a very upsetting and disappointing experience since my mother had loved going there so much! The manager CESAR was also quite rude to us the whole time. We will never ever ever go there again!!! Also, we spoke to other people who were there as well, and they had been having problems as well. One couple said it was their fourth time going there to try to make it right and showed us their coupon for a free meal that was not used because they messed up again! If I had the option, I would have given them -5 stars! We were really upset about it because we had never had such a bad experience at any restaurant before in our lives!

My ham with breakfast was embarrassing I couldn't believe the cook sent it and my server brought it. It was paper thin and wayyyy over cooked. I really don't like giving such a bad review, but it's deserved. Wasn't the first time at this restaurant so I won't be back.

We love coming to this cracker barrel location! The people are so friendly and it definitely has a homey feel to it. We've dined at this location a few times before and we recommend going early. It fills up quickly during the dinner rush, but also I feel like the food is more consistently fresh and tasty the earlier you can manage to get there for dinner. We got there today at 4:45 and there was no wait. 10 minutes later there was a long line. The cheesecake stuffed pancakes are -so good-. I can't recommend them enough. Tonight I had a maple bacon chicken dinner that was also amazing. I didn't care for the baked potato, but that was due to my own personal preference. Others may enjoy the taste. My kids didn't care for the Mac n cheese, but they're picky eaters. For appetizers, we recommend the loaded hashbrown tots and beignets!
