The servers are very polite, efficient, and courteous. Yes, the food is very good but the service is definitely the Icing on the cake. I put about 1500 miles a week on the road 🛣️ and this place has cemented my Monday nights (if it's not too crowded which is a good thing for them but I don't particularly like crowds of people but I get that the food is good). Shay always takes great care of me (and all of her customers since I started eating there) and remembers what I like each and every time. I'm a creature of habit and I'm sure with her serving thousands of people to even remotely remember what I like is why this place is great for the Morehead City community!!!

This place is definitely a no frills type of joint however, the staff is outstanding and the food is delicious and ridiculously well priced! I don’t know how this is our first visit here in as long as I’ve been coming to Atlantic beach. This will be a regular spot for us in the future.

Ordered the fisherman’s platter. Said it came with various items including “oysters.” Plural. They served one. Had to have noticed but didn’t do anything until I mentioned it, and then offered to bring me ONE more. Then: it was a daily special and on the menu it said all daily specials came with a free dessert. I tried to order a dessert and was told that daily specials only came with the desserts listed on the white board menu, even though the one that was pointed out to me had no desserts listed (see pictures for all of this). At this point the manager came out and basically tried to smooth talk his way out of the whole thing and then intimidate me when that didn’t work—it was bizarre. He even tried to act like he was doing me a favor by giving me “a free oyster” (the one that I payed for that was supposed to come with the meal!). When I pointed out that the menu was misleading the OWNER of the restaurant threw his hands up and acted like he had no idea what his menu might or might not say. Eventually figured out what the game was and just left. Absolutely SKETCHY and deceptive vibe to the whole place. Never eat there in a million years—go next door to Captains table, way more decent people.

Cozy diner on emerald Isle beach, busy but they have space. The service was nice, quick and attentive. The pancakes and turkey sausages were not hot when delivered.

Stopped for breakfast on a Sunday so they were busy although we were served pretty quick. My other half ordered breakfast, and I opted for the beef tips with collard greens. The breakfast was better imho. I'll try that the next time.

This is a great little place for old school country cooking. The food is reasonably priced and delicious! They have daily specials with a wide variety of side dishes such as macaroni salad, potato salad, collard greens, cabbage, pickled beets, coleslaw, macaroni, fried okra…. The list goes on!!! We loved the shrimp salad, shrimp burger, tomato bacon slaw, and orange delight! Deep fried cinnamon rolls were on special… if I wasn’t so full, I would have tried them! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff is super friendly. It is a fantastic local gem you definitely want to try!

Home cooking. Thought I saw my GG those in the back making biscuits. Damn it’ll make you want to go back to the farm and pick your own beans and peas.

I had a $16.95 special that included chowder, two sides (I chose a salad), and choice of two seafood items (I chose shrimp and oysters). Everything was exceptional, except the chowder which was not as thick and creamy as I normally expect but flavor was still good. It came with an included dessert (I chose banana pudding). I very much recommend Cox's if you're down in or near the area. The food is great and so are the portions and prices. Where else can you get all this food for only $16.95? Salad not pictured as I was hungry and forgot to photograph.
