Courtyard Winston-Salem Hanes Mall - Hotel in Winston-Salem - 1600 Westbrook Plaza Dr, USA

Our terrible stay at the Courtyard began when we checked in with Kevin at the front desk, who was rude and did not seem interested in helping us learn more information about the hotel and acted like he would rather be anywhere but there. Next the smell of the hotel resembled that of greasy fast food, which is not the biggest problem, but added to the overall negative experience. Next we make our way down to the elevator which probably has not been renovated in a long time. The fast-food smell vanishes as you emerge into the hallway where you are suddenly slammed with a strong chemical smell. The smell is not only in the hallway but also in the rooms. It is overpowering and most likely there to coverup mildew or mold. The rooms are small, old, and have concrete ceilings and walls. The air conditioning is old and was going on and off throughout the night. It is not a welcoming or relaxing environment. The bathroom setup is strange and not conducive to larger families. Even worse was the price, which did represent the hotel's value, as I have in much nicer places for far less. Safe to say we will be coming back and you should take my advice and stay far away from this hotel.

This is my place of choice while working in town. The place is clean and the AC works well. Internet tv, friendly staff. They sometimes give complimentary food vouchers for the cafe. I like this place and it makes it easy for me to get to my jobsite while avoiding traffic. They have a nice clean pool and a much bigger gym than Im used to at most other locations. Not much else to say - theyre a great location. I only wish Marriott in general would provide liquid hand soap at the sinks in the room!

The room is very clean. The hotel is very clean. It smells clean. The Wi-Fi did not work the entire 3 days we were there. The cable TV was flaky. I couldn't get my TV to turn off one time and so I had to pull the TV out from the wall and unplug it. The ice machine on the fourth floor didn't work except for the very last day. The bistro is on the first floor. They like to fry stuff quite a bit and so the first floor was permeated with a smell of grease from frying.

My son and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay there, clean hotel, free shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, room had a closet for our clothes along with hangers, full body length mirror, very spacious, we had a room with a balcony which was awesome!! The service was freaking amazing everyone was so sweet, welcoming and if I had any trouble with anything at all they fixed it immediately, we will definitely be going back. BTW, if you stay there do yourself a favor and eat at the restaurant inside the hotel, the food is spectacular especially the cinnamon French toast that has strawberries on top, OMG!!!!

Rooms have been remodeled, but you can tell this hotel has some age on it. First room had mold in the shower caulking and a broken drain in the sink. Second room also had a broken sink drain and I found a bug in the bed. Also, the shower took a good 6-7 minutes to get any hot water. The cafe is overpriced, and the guy got my order wrong.

No welcome greeting from the front desk, no smile, no thank you for being an Elite Bonvoy member and same thing on checkout. It would have helped upon arrival to know which end of the hotel my room was on because I parked on the completely opposite side and that's normally not the case. Usually I am told about the amenities of the hotel, my room location and any other pertinent information but not on this go round.

Went here for a meeting in one of their spaces. Was spacious. It had been raining. Luckily I had a jacket because we were seating by an air vent and it was cold. The hotel appeared clean. Looked like the Bistro was a nice place to grab a bite. I can't say anything about the rooms or service at this time.

Beware!!! My husband’s golf clubs were stolen out of the back of his truck. Yes, it was locked-thieves popped the lock. Hotel does not have security cameras. Front desk response-here’s the number for the local police. The rooms were ok, clean. You can hear the traffic from the highway, but it was convenient off of rte 40-that was a plus. Apparently also convenient for thieves. It was well lit, but again no security cameras!
