Courtyard Winston-Salem Downtown - Hotel in Winston-Salem - 640 W 4th St, USA

My wife and I stayed here for a Saturday visit to downtown. I must admit we were hesitant based on reviews and ratings. However , our reluctance was misguided. The hotel is very nice. Our room was spacious and comfortable l. The hotel has two bars. One bar is on the top floor but it is raining so we sat inside. In all, you can’t go wrong. We have stayed at the Kempton several times but the Marriott is just as nice and is reasonably priced.

I never been to an hotel this clean and spot on in a very long time. The staff is down to earth & very friendly, I like the roof top bar on the 6th floor that has a very nice vibe and view of down town plus the location is easy to walk to the bars near by as well. The safety measure they use here is comforting because you need a room key in order to access the elevator and other places in the building.

The hotel is located in downtown and you need to register first before getting an access card to the parking garage, the elevator, weight room, indoor pool and your room. The parking garage is to the right of the hotel with no connection to the parking garage. FYI, there were only two luggage carrying carts available for the entire hotel for patrons to use. Patience is require. On the same street as the hotel, there are a few eateries that are worth checking out. If your room faces the street be prepare for late night laud cars transiting. Overall the hotel is in a nice and secure area. The amenities e.g. weight room(6th floor) and inside heated pool(1st floor) are nice and clean with available towels.

Stay away from this hotel!!! We parked at the garage and nobody told us about about the parade the next morning. Upon our check-out, we were entrapped. Nobody owned the issue nor showed empathy. We complained to Marriott , finally got a phone call from the manager. He told me that he was at the hotel during our stay, but can’t promise the same thing will not happen in the future.

I was in town for a conference at the Benton Convention Center and stayed at this hotel. I was pleased with the location and quality of the accommodations. There is a parking garage right next door for $15 per day which is less than other downtown lots. Also, Foothills Brewing is right next door if you want to grab a drink or meal. Numerous other restaurants are right down the street, and it was a five minute walk to the convention center. I would stay at this hotel again if I return to town.

Really enjoyed my stay. A very professional staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. I appreciated the pool and the gym facilities, as well.

We were so disappointed with this hotel. We came to visit our daughter and son-in-law and loved the location of the hotel. But, the hotel was very disappointing. The bed was made, but the sheets were very wrinkled as if the sheets had not been changed. We overlooked that since it was late when we arrived after a long drive. However the next day, when we returned for the night, nothing had been done to the room. We were out of toilet paper, tissues, and coffee. We went down to the front desk and asked about this. The front desk employee said since Covid they no longer go in the rooms to refresh unless the guests request it. And if we needed items to be replaced we had to ask for them. The front desk person gave us some of the items we asked for and said housekeeping would bring the rest. So, the next night when we came to the room, the bed had been made, but no toilet paper, tissues or coffee were replaced. As a Marriott/Bonvoy member sorry to say, you are not up to the standards we expect from Marriott hotels.

This hotel is located in downtown Winston Salem and the hotel charges $15 extra per night to park in the parking deck that cannot be accessed through the hotel lobby. It's very inconvenient! Other complaints: Pool closed. Wi-Fi so weak that it wouldn't work. Shower nozzle inside bathroom sprays water all over the floor and cannot be adjusted. Toilet paper hangs off a stick that is not secure. No continental breakfast. Front desk people not at all helpful.
