We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Waikiki. This hotel is centered in Waikiki within walking distance to every beach on Waikiki and all the major shopping centers. Plus there are plenty of great places to eat with in a 5 to 10 minute walk. The rooms are small, but shower has good water pressure, the bed was comfortable, and the room clean. We had a nice balcony that we would sit on in the morning to enjoy coffee and breakfast. The pool area was like a private oasis. It was shaded by palm trees and had plenty of seating. It was a great place to go after the beach when you still wanted to be outside, but didn't want the direct sunlight and crowds of the beach. This is an affordable hotel and we loved our stay. If I come back we will stay here for sure.

My family stayed here recently for 4 nights and booked a package deal that included a room plus rental car. I was well aware of the $35 resort fee and $58 valet fee prior to booking which were both included in the package price. There is also no complimentary breakfast served; however, there is a coffee shop and market. The hotel is within walking distance to Waikiki Beach, International Market Place, and many popular stores and restaurants. There are 2 buildings - the main building where the lobby, spa, fresh water pool, coffee shop, gift shop, and market are located. The second building, which is a short walk across the valet stand, is where more rooms and the salt water pool are located. This is where my suite was. Check-in: I submitted my check-in the day prior and requested an early check-in. I understand it is not always granted. I went to the hotel 30 minutes before actual check-in time and received my room. Room: Initially booked a deluxe double room and was upgraded to a 1 bedroom corner suite (I’m a platinum elite member). The room was spacious for my party of 5. The kitchen lacked silverware, dishes, and glasses which were listed in the room details on Marriott’s official app. We ended up buying disposable plates, silverware, and recyclable cups. The AC was so strong we were shivering cold and had to play around with the controls until we figured out how to regulate the heat. The shower in the bathroom was small and dark. Not enough counter space or any drawers in the bathroom. I had to use the top of the safe in the closet to keep things organized. Housekeeping: We were supposed to receive services once during our stay and it did not happen. I had to contact them for more toilet paper, and we helped ourselves to more towels. Pool: Freshwater pool was good. Hot tub was closed. Barely anyone used the saltwater pool which was smaller in comparison to the other pool. Towels available to use for the pool or at the beach were located in a brown cabinet next to the freshwater pool (main building by the lobby). Coffee shop: It had limited hours - open from morning to early afternoon only. I attempted to contact them by phone so I could place an order for pick up but it kept going straight to voicemail. I ended up walking across the parking lot to the other building to place my order. I discovered how busy they were when I arrived so it was impossible for anyone to answer phones. From the time I placed my order, it was about a 10 minute wait or so. I was surprised there were not more kid friendly items on the menu. I ordered the avocado toast which was delicious! Valet: This had to be the most disorganized valet service I have come across. You are provided a scan card which did not work. I had to text a number with my code instead. I waited 40 minutes for my vehicle and was late to breakfast meeting with family. I sent my initial text at 7:50AM. At 8:08AM, I received a text that my car would be ready soon and to make my way to the valet stand. It was another 20 minutes after receiving that message when my vehicle showed up with bird poop scattered on the right rear passenger side door. Another time, valet could not locate the keys and had searched everywhere when they realized it was left in the vehicle. They pack the vehicles in so tight, it is challenging to maneuver around the parking lot. Also, at night (like 2am) they will sound off the car alarms to match vehicles to keys. Overall: The package price was what led us here. It was the best bang for our buck but there were many flaws. As a platinum elite, I was expecting so much more and was disappointed. We will not be staying here again.

First I'd like to give a shout out to Megan who checked my family in and really made me feel welcome to the hotel, she provided excellent hospitality and friendly service. So I've stayed at this hotel for a combined total of 4+ weeks. I think it's a great place to stay if you don't want to be near the super busy main strip area of Waikiki. It is also a Courtyard so it has more of a regular hotel feel than a resort. The hotel is walking distance to a lot of good places to eat. And there is an ABC right next door which is also very convenient. The parking is expensive, but basically every hotel in the area is going for a similar rate. Lots of people come here for business so the morning valet and after noon valet wait times can get long. Parking outside of the valet would be pretty hard as there are basically a handful of street parking spots. In regards to the rooms, if you are traveling with a baby or need extra room for any reason, I'd recommend getting the upgraded room, because the base room is very small and won't fit a crib or Graco comfortably. All in all, this is a clean hotel that allows you to stay in Waikiki and is a tad bit more relaxed and calm I think than the other hotels more on the strip.

I chose this place to stay over for eight nights as part of my vacation in Hawaii. Check-in was straightforward, and I was in my room within five minutes! You can also opt in for housekeeping services every other day if you wish, even though I see them in the hallways every single day, so I can just flag them down and ask for anything I need in my room. Air conditioning works and you can adjust the temperature. And there’s a mini-fridge so you can store your soft drinks to keep them cold. My only issue, albeit minor, was the size of the shower stall. Overall, the room was decent, but for me it’s all about exploring Hawaii. 🌴🌴 And if this matters, one of the entrances (on Kūhiō Ave) closes after a certain time in the evening so if you come back late, you’ll have to enter through the side entrance on Royal Hawaiian Ave.

The good. Budget hotel with nice room service and easy check-in and out. Not too far from beach and main street. 2 stars, not 3. $210 room fee with gov discount, way overpriced. The bad. 1 Fire alarm went off one night had to climb some furniture to unscrew it. General alarm went off another night, had to evacuate, false alarm. Shower is a joke, 3' by 3' cramp space. Only one sink in bathroom. Room too small for 2 with bags. Noisy in room AC. No towels in the pool area, wait 1 hour to get some, pool 4' deep max and small. Broken ice machine. No bar nor restaurant, just a tiny coffee area and couple vending machines. Elevator requires keycard, annoying when you carry things. Room door has a gap all around. Doors are noisy. Valet parking. 1) lost our car key, wait 1 hour, 2) Parked our car under a tree, got it full of bird poo. 3) Lost our car, wait 1 hour, 4) always wait 30 to 45 minutes to get the car, every day. The QR code thing does not work. Manually text the code. $35 Destination fee, for what? Next time I will spend a bit more and go elsewhere.

The staff is very nice. The contracted valet staff were nice and timely getting my vehicle. The issue is the hotel as a whole. The rooms are very dated and in desperate need for paint or at least a wall cleaning. The bathroom is tiny and the shower is very small. I’m 6’1” 220lbs and I had trouble reaching my feet in the shower due to its size. This hotel is simply not worth it for the price. Also, make sure you are aware of the “resort fees” before you book your stay. This is far from a resort.

Once again, not staying at the hotel, just here for a hookup. But I've been here before. And I must say, tho the rooms are small and the most recent one had a shower that was dark and not much room, it was still very comfortable. There are plenty of amenities and the concierge is really active. I remember liking my stay many years ago, and the hours I spent in a room most recently were very pleasant.

We have come quite a few times over the years to Hawaii and we have stayed at the Courtyard Marriott many times we really love this place because all the staff make you feel welcome and great you all day every day, nothing is a hurdle for them when it comes to customer service. Within the first week of being here we had a issue with our room and they gladly moved us to another room that was higher without any issues. My daughter had her birthday here and the crew from the lobby bought her a present and delivered it to the room , but they also signed her birthday card which made it very personal but in a great way that will leave us a great memory of this wonderful resort. I do not hesitate in recommending for families to come and stay here it is very well located near everything including buses and trolleys to take you anywhere. It is unfortunate that I can only give 5 stars because I would not hesitate in giving 10. Well done Courtyard Marriott.
