This is a pretty good hotel. Clean, friendly staff, great lobby lounge and bar. Room was comfortable. The cons-the elevator is deathly slow, the water pressure is horrible (shower is a dribble and you have to hold the toilet lever for about 6-7 seconds for it to flush). One “nice to have” would be a sitting area outside that actually gets sun. The front of the hotel is under the overhang and the nice patio of the lounge is in the shade all day. I was there on a beautiful weekend and would have liked to be outside without a chill. But, this was a pretty good hotel in a good location, a bunch of strip malls with lots of food and service choices.
I'm torn between giving this hotel a high-five and a gentle headshake. Let me explain. The good stuff first: the room was a lovely oasis - clean, spacious, and with a view that didn't make me want to pull the curtains shut. The service? Top-notch! Friendly faces and helpful hands all around. But, dear Courtyard By Marriott Shelton, it's time to address the elephant in the room (or rather, the ancient air conditioner). It's so loud, I'm pretty sure I heard it yelling at the towels for not drying fast enough. Speaking of which, we didn't get fresh towels on our second day, and let me tell you, using damp towels is not the most luxurious experience. And then there are the walls. Thin. Like, "I can hear my neighbor's thoughts" thin. Luckily, our neighbors weren't party animals, but still, a girl needs her beauty sleep, right? All in all, this hotel is a great choice if you don't mind a few quirks. Just don't forget your earplugs and a towel dryer (just kidding...or am I?). P.S. Please consider upgrading that air conditioner. It's older than some of the guests (no offense, seniors!).
Good hotel, rooms are clean and comfortable. Furniture and amenities are outdated (the tiny drip coffee pot rather than a Keurig, the huge dysfunctional wall AC unit) and could be improved. There was also not enough parking when I stayed. But overall not bad, just not great for a Marriott.
Room is 81 degrees and hotel is on fire. Terrible hotel. Told front desk, and she stared at me and said nothing. Nothing. Like a robot, stone cold. Upsetting I spend 300 or more nights and they can't get you a cup of coffee. Never strive for Ambassador Level. It does absolutely nothing. No upgrades, no perks, it's worthless. And this hotel proves it.
The indoor pool is nice. Pricing for the hotel, considering how dark the room is, I guess would be acceptable Extremely Dissatisfied with how dark the rooms were. I think a morgue is probably brighter. Ugly view of the black tared roof. When I stay in the hotel, I like it to be bright and cheerful, not dark and dismal and depressing. Sorry about the review, but the facts are the facts, Would I Stay here again, probably not.
Jennifer at the front desk is a super hero! Excellent service! Hotel was clean and recently renovated. Staff was friendly and helpful! Area is beautiful! My family was very comfortable here!
Great hotel in a great location. Easy access to all major highways. Great restaurants, grab and go food options, as well as grocery stores. Clean and comfortable room. Nice indoor pool and small bistro for quick bites in the morning.
I was on a weeklong business trip, and I stayed at the Courtyard Shelton for the first night, while I was traveling. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that my room had been upgraded to a Jr. Suite without my even requesting it. (I am a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member). When I checked in, I was told that was done by the manager, Zach. (Thank you, Zach!) The person who checked me in, Alex, was also lovely. The room was perfect; it had a microwave, a smaller counter top with two stools to eat at, and a comfortable bed. The next morning, I was working later than I expected, and they extended my check out to later than I had asked for, so I was able to complete my work before heading to my next stop. There was a Panera Bread across the street, so I grabbed a snack, filled my car up with gas, and was on my way. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, and I would return to this hotel again!
Second stay here and was just as happy this time around! Hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious and well kept. I was in a studio King, and the space was amazing. The kitchenette was fully stocked and had enough space and supplies to make simp
We had a house fire and requested the Residence Inn and did not regret it! Clean, attractive and dog friendly, we were happy to be there. The staff was very courteous and responsive to our every need...will stay there again in happier circumstances!
