Courtyard Salinas Monterey - Featured Reviews (560)
honestly this wasn’t the cleanest or best appealing hotel to stay at.. for some reason, the floor in the room that we stayed in was wet?? it was slightly wet and would make my socks damp after stepping on it. the service was GREAT however. we stayed in a room with a sofa bed and a regular bed but the bedding and blankets were missing. so when we called someone downstairs, the guy was extremely sweet and empathetic about the situation. unfortunately it sounded like this hotel was extremely understaffed as the guy bringing us the items to our room told us that he would try to bring the items asap since he was the only one downstairs at that moment. still super nice people though.
Marriott Platinum member for 7 years. It is not in a nice part of town. Bedroom has an odor. This hotel makes hidden charges for advertised options on the standard Courtyard food menu. Ordered a breakfast plate which provides option of potatoes or tomatoes. Was charged extra $4.50 for choosing tomatoes and was not notified of the upcharge nor was it listed on the menu. Had to get mgr approval. At every other Courtyard we have ordered the same breakfast, we have never been charged extra for choosing tomatoes. This hotel advertises Monterey, but its best reflection of Monterey is that Monterey is about 30min away on a map.
Courtyard Salinas Monterey was okay to stay at. I had a minor issue with my hotel room being changed a day before check-in. I called the hotel when I noticed my booking information was not the one I booked, and they said the only thing that could be done would be to ask if they could give us the room we originally booked the day of. It was very inconvenient that the original room I booked was changed without our permission or prior notice. Another issue was the cleanliness of the place. When we first arrived, there was an empty soda bottle by the nightstand. The towels had long pieces of hair on them. The last minor inconvenience was that I went out of the room thirty minutes before our check-out time. When I returned to get my belongings, the cleaning lady had already started cleaning and put my belongings in the cleaning car.
We usually only stay in Marriott properties and have been to many throughout the USA. This is the worst hotel of all of the Marriot properties we have experienced. We |travel a lot for work and usually have to take care of some business while in our hotel room. There was no workspace to set up a laptop or any other kind of writing space in our room. There was no dresser in our room, so they put the TV on top of the writing desk and shoved a chair in the side of it. The TV was stuck to the desk somehow, so we couldn't move the TV out of the way to be able to use the desk. Not only was there not a dresser, but there was no luggage stand. We had to pull out the ironing board and set it up to use for a luggage stand. The coffee pot and coffee were located on the bathroom sink which left less room to store our toiletries. There was no nightstand between the beds. Instead, they put a tiny side table that should have been beside the chair in the room between the beds. There is only one small elevator in the building that sounds like it may quit at any time. The "bistro" is only open until 9:30 in the morning, so if you want more coffee after 9:30, you need to make it at the bathroom sink in your room. The night we stayed, they had problems with the water, so water was shut off from 10pm-6pm. The location of the hotel is a bit sketchy as well and they don't seem to have any kind of security. Anyone could enter the building and take the stairs or elevators to the rooms. I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend it. A total waste of money! Definitely not Marriott quality- very disappointing!
Clean rooms, window-unit A/C can be noisy but at least it works. Service at the front desk is good. Their breakfast isn't really very good; if you're in a hurry stick to black coffee, maybe a banana if they have them that day. Not many good restaurant options nearby other than the usual chains.
Way overpriced for a rundown hotel. Marriott charged us 40,000 Marriott points per night. Stay Away. This is a low end hotel - selling for a premium price. I would give it 0 Stars if that was a choice. Room was worn down, needs an upgrade. Should be two star property at most.
Upon arrival I was not greeted, merely asked if I had a reservation. On top of the excessive room rate I was charged $12 to park in the back (sketchy) part of the hotel, then walk in the dark back to the side of the hotel to gain access. Upon entering the room it is very clean and seemed fairly current. Now I know for a fact this place was renovated but to my surprise holes in the dresser and zero USB ports. Also a fan in the bathroom that sounds like a Cessna 150 starting up. I will stick to hilton properties the stay current and don't charge for parking.
Polite employees, clean, spacious rooms. Parking was crowded, but we always had a spot open. About 20-30 mins from the beaches, cannery row. East drive to get there and back. Would stay here again
We started here as part of a three winery tour on a Saturday. We were the only people there early in the day, and we had a long visit with the winemaker. The setting is perfection! We loved the wines. We would definitely recommend, and we will defini
