I was here for one night. I enjoyed my stay the staff was very nice to me. I love the fact that this property is conveniently located. I definitely would love to stay at this property again. The cleanliness level is very noticeable. I forgot my swimming trunks so I didn't get to utilize the indoor pool.
Positive: Quiet location, but close to shopping and restaurants. Cleanliness of room!! Negative: I don't like to pay for coffee in the morning when other hotels offer it as a complimentary benefit. I don't use hotel coffee machines because I cannot tell when they have been cleaned.
This hotel was not up to par with others in this chain. Soon after we arrived there was a fire drill. The heat was unbearable to be outside. Our shower leaked on the floor from the bathroom into the adjacent room. The deadbolt lock prevented you from closing the door when leaving. The best thing was the margaritas that the young lady made at the bar.
Reserved a couple of rooms so the family could attend graduation ceremonies at Christopher Newport University. While we reserved early, we still ended up paying jacked-up rates well beyond the value this property provided. I understand market pricing, but this was ridiculous ... and this was the least expensive property in the area. The rooms were nice, and clean, though the beds were soft and not up to the usual Marriott brand standard. Otherwise, a fine stay, with pleasant staff.
We recently stayed here for a week and booked the king suite with breakfast, paying a considerably high price and expecting good service. However, we encountered several issues:
- The front desk staff had a poor attitude, despite our friendly approach.
- No breakfast was provided. We were told it wasn't included in our reservation, though our confirmation stated the opposite.
- The room was dirty and rundown. Upon entering, we found it filthy, with broken amenities and torn furniture.
We are extremely disappointed with the service. Given the cost of over $200 a night, we expected much better than this.
Server at breakfast had an argument with someone thru her airpods while serving the guests. Was a very heated argument and very uncomfortable to be there.
Had fire alarms go off for about 10 minutes with no communication. Did find out someone sprayed something while trying to fix pool. When we were leaving for our event there were firetrucks and all the employees where outside. If it was a nonemergency why where all the employees outside and nothing said to the guests.
Rooms were nice and big but had a musty smell as well as the hallways. Could be why we found a flattened baking soda box between out mattress and box springs. Breakfast food was extremely overpriced and not at all like the pictures in elevator (avocado toast) The location of the hotel near everywhere we needed was great and pulled the overall rating up
The room was clean, and the price was reasonable. The hotel room had vinyl floors, which I prefer to carpet. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My only concern was that the day and night of our stay and the next morning, the door to the pool was propped open. The pool, which was just off the main lobby and across from the elevator, did not have any other gate. I wasn't traveling with small kids, but if I was, this would seem like a big risk to me. In some jurisdictions it's also probably against hotel safety codes.
Positive: Staff was great! Negative: Burn mark or dirt on one of the sofa pillows, dirty underneath the sink and drywall was not painted where it had been mudded. opening under the a/c unit

Excellent sushi. I consider myself and my boyfriend to be a bit of sushi snobs, as we have tried many different sushi places and only found a few that we liked enough to return to. This place will definitely be somewhere we return. The sushi was fres
