Awesome hotel! I stayed here for 10 nights during a business trip, and couldn't have been happier. Everybody from the desk to the bar to housekeeping went above and beyond. The room layouts are great and everything was clean. Highly recommend

My recent stay was very pleasant! Upon entering the hotel, I was greeted with a friendly and welcoming smile by the front desk manager, Keith Richardson. He was very professional and polite! He made sure I was aware of the hotels amenities and was sure to answer any questions I had, again very professionally. The check process was smooth and I was soon on my way to my room. My room was very clean and comfortable as well. I spent time in the lobby and was able to witness other guests being check in by Mr. Richardson with the same level of respect and attention to detail. My next visit to the area will include a stay at Courtyard Marriott, New Castle DE.

Bonvoy member here, I rarely ever say this about Marriott, but don't stay here. Everything is a charge, the hotel didn't even ask if I had a car, they didn't take my license plate, or anything and charged me 10$ a night. Robbery. The TV is out of service (mind you this is a new hotel). The low life people who loiter around the property and surrounding properties is questionable. First time to Delaware, and last. Majority of the blame lies solely upon this specific hotel. The only star goes to the night concierge, at least he's knowledgeable. The day crew is untrained in their job responsibilities. Again, pass on this place.

We normally stay near the Christiana Mall in Newark as we have friends in New Castle. But we were so happy to see that this Courtyard Marriott opened in New Castle only 1.5 miles from our friend’s house. We wanted to like this place as we see our friends 4 times a year. Let’s start with the good. • The folks at the reception desk were all very nice, polite and accommodating. • The rooms are new. • Big 55-inch TV • Starbucks is located within a 1 min walk. • Royal Farms is located within a 2 min walk. There is no other good and the hotel gets no points for Starbucks and Royal Farms located at the same location. Here is the not so good. • It took forever to checkin at the front desk. I am not sure if they did not know what they were doing, or their computer system was terrible. The couple in front of us checking in had to insert and reinsert his credit card at least 3 times. We had to do it only 2 times. Check in was way to long. • Later in our stay we tried to charge a candy bar to our room. However the person at the front desk could not get it to work so we paid by credit card. • The carpet in the elevator was stained. (see attached pic) • The loveseat in the room also had some stains. • The Mattress was not flat. It felt like you fell towards the middle of the mattress. • There were toothpaste stains on the wallpaper around the sink in the bathroom (see attached pic) • The thermostat did not work on the wall!! Fortunately we were able to turn on the AC and control the temperature from the actual AC unit. We told the manager and he says that happens from time to time that the control on the wall loses connection with the AC unit. This place is brand new. This should not happen!! • Above the Bed near the ceiling the wallpaper was all stain (see attached Pic) • The paint was peeling on the ceiling in the bathroom (see attached pic) • There was a horrible smell in the hallway. Our room was on the second floor. It smelled like carpet clue. But the place is almost 1 year old so not sure what that smell was. Please keep in mind this place is BRAND NEW! It opened in fall 2023. It should not look like this after under a year of being opened. We are writing this review in the hopes that the management will address these issues as we want to come back to the hotel when we visit our friends. If these issues dont get addressed this place will turn into a dump in a couple of years.

CAUTION! Watch out for HIDDEN charges. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was unexpectedly hit with an "incidental" fee which was not disclosed during booking. Without prior notice, they casually prompted me to swipe my card, leading me to assume this "incidental" fee was a refundable deposit for potential room damages. To my dismay, it turned out to be a charge for PARKING. The funny thing is, they neglected to inquire if I even had a vehicle. The realization dawned on me when I scrutinized my bank statement post-return and found the fee remained unrefunded. Despite my complaint, it fell on deaf ears, and I never recovered my money. Upon reading other reviews, I've noticed that this is a con they have been running on a few other patrons. During my four-day stay in that hotel room, not once did they attend to replenish my towels or sheets. In fact, I had to notify the front desk on the very first day about the absence of towels in the bathroom! I unequivocally vow never to revisit this establishment. For a newly opened hotel, one would expect a level of professionalism, which was sorely lacking.

This is a 2-star hotel. Checked in, and WiFi is so SLOW, and kids are running around on the floor. - forget about being quiet. There was "No Welcome Package" for Elite Bonvoy Guest when checked in. There is NO room upgrade for Ambassador Elite Bonvoy Status Guest. More updates Will be posted. Being charged $450 for its incidental fees—never had this before... was pretty disappointing at this hotel, for my last 25 years of using Marriott hotels and Marriott-affiliated hotels for business and/or leisure, overseas and in state. I think, from my experiences using Marriott hotels, the issues at this hotel, not Marriott hotels and/or Marriott-affiliated hotels... It would be better off staying at another Marriott hotel.

Hotel is clean and convenient off Rt 95. Gym is nice too. BIG turn off to charge $9.95 for parking in a shared lot with other businesses when you're in the suburbs. I recommend you reassess this policy you will turn off a lot of travelers charging for parking when other similar hotels do not.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I typically stay in Marriott hotels on average 80-120 nights per year. For only being open three months, this hotel is already going down hill. Check in took 20 mins. Took three different trips downstairs to get my room key to work after check in. Requested housekeeping all three days, only got one day and on the day I did get housekeeping, the attendant threw my bag on my bed and claimed they couldn’t make the bed because I “left my suitcase there”. When I left my room, my suitcase was across the room on the sofa. Bathroom toilet was also “cleaned” and left off kilter. Food in the hallways. I was very excited for this hotel to open, as I am in New Castle once a month for work. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. I will be staying elsewhere next time.

Great local resturant. Tortas are authentic and the salsa verde is very good. Try the chorizo torta or the asada tacos with everything on it. Will be back.
