Courtyard Los Angeles Pasadena/Old Town - Hotel in Pasadena - 180 N Fair Oaks Ave, USA

I’d like to say this location is the best if you happen to stay in Pasadena, California. Proximity to eateries and shops is within walking distance. Hotel has been newly remodeled, majorly in the lobby. Rooms are renovated also, but some items are of poor quality or don’t work. Hallways are hot because the hotel is connected on each floor to a vehicle garage. If you do not have a veranda outside your room, the rooms will be humid because there are no windows to open, vents in shower doesn’t seem to work and the hallways are already humid if you decide to prop your door open. Tiffany and Veronica and non-front desk staff seem to be the only staff with a smiling face greeting guests as they come in/out. Other front desk staff seem to be indifferent or lost. And there seems to be some confusion with management on who does what or is assigned to what duties, and on processes. A little bit of confusion was observed at check in and from observation during my stay. This hotel has a pool and is family friendly. Room cleaning is erratic and not guaranteed. Always short staffed is the excuse. Has a bar and a restaurant. Full American breakfast is served for $26/person. Not a fan of the breakfast at $26; it’s a no for me. Dinner served, but not sure about the quality since I didn’t visit for dinner. Bar serves Starbucks coffee- but the few times I got coffee, it seems the coffee had been sitting there too long- not fresh. Room provides a refrigerator, a microwave is available at the front desk. Generally clean. No hotel shuttle. Security isn’t tight. Food delivery reps are seen on floor delivering food to guest rooms. Hotel does have laundry- wash and dry is $2.50 in total.

I stayed here because it was recommended by a friend! Very cute room and good lighting. I enjoyed being able to walk to nearby restaurants and bars at night and it felt like a safe area. Their gym had a modern design with new equipment. Definitely a pleasant stay overall.

Marriott upgraded my room before my arrival…very nice. I love the Marriott sofas and beds…these were terrific and the wall coverings were new which was nice too. Pool terrific. Front desk staff very very good. But…my room was dirty and the balcony screen door was ripped and off the track. The shower stall had hair in it and was sticky and all the furniture needed a wipe down. I was exhausted and on a one night stay so I didn’t complain that night…also how do you complain to a great desk staff that has given you an upgraded room. Hello Hotel Inspector!

We traveled to LA for a sports camp, and originally made a reservation at a different Marriott property (Glendale Residence Inn). When we arrive at the 1st hotel, we were told they did not have our room (oversold), and we were simply told to look for reservations elsewhere (?!). We booked through Marriott app at the next, closest available hotel (the Courtyard Pasadena), but obviously that brings a very high rate booking last minute. But we were told by first hotel we had no choice (?!). Very frustrating/poor service from 1st hotel.||When we arrived at Courtyard Pasadena, we were tired/frustrated but were fortunate to meet Jeanine at the front desk. Jeanine noted immediately that our rate was "very high." When I explained why we had just made the reservation, she immediately did everything she could to welcome us, reduced our rate, and made us feel welcome (very different from Glendale Residence Inn). Our stay has been great. Every time we've asked for a service (towels, sheets, etc.), we received it within 5 minutes and a follow-up call from front desk (twice Jeanine) to make sure we were good. This hotel went extra mile for us and Jeanine saved our trip. Can't thank her enough.||Room was nice/perfect for our needs. Breakfast very good. Nice pool. Loation close to Colorado St./old town Pasadena is perfect. Thank you very much to Jeanine and staff for rescuing our trip.

Before I start I should say I have been a regular visitor to this hotel for almost 20 years. I love(d) the place. All has been great. Recent remodelling has made the place ‘new’ and fresh again. The issue is that I have a sixth sense about the place. I feel like it caters more now for people staying 1 or maybe 2 nights only. I usually stay 7 to 8 nights. There is nowhere to dry laundry that isn’t dryer friendly. Detergents were free of charge and now they are not. Self parking has doubled in price over the last few years. Maid services are at best every two days and additional supplies are denied on your ‘no service’ days. I will probably come back, but after looking for alternatives. Beware though that as a UK traveller the hotel caused my credit card to be blocked which came with added issues elsewhere in my trip. A number of apparently random amounts of money were requested from my card provider, all were blocked, and the reason given was that I didn’t put the pin into the card system at checkin. So moral of the story is that if you are an overseas visitor you MAY need to ensure that you put your pin in at check in or risk your card being blocked.

So I recently stayed at this hotel when I was visiting my grandmother, super happy I Was able to connect my Netflix to the TV. Hotel. Hotel was pet friendly was able to take my childhood companion with me. When I arrived to the room everything was super clean and spotless especially the restroom!

The service at this hotel was extraordinary. Easy check in and not to mention how clean the room was! The thing that stood out to me the most was the amenities it had to offer and how peaceful my stay was. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Check in experience was fast and pleasant, room was spotless and restaurant had great breakfast options (fresh vegetables, lots of meat, could use my daily elite credit for this), large lobby with several good spots to get work done and make phone calls. ||Walkable area with a lot of good restaurants and bars nearby in Old Town, highly recommend Fish Wives for lunch.
