Courtyard Los Angeles Monterey Park - Hotel in Monterey Park - 555 N Atlantic Blvd, USA

I stay at Courtyards and Fairfields 40-50 nights per year. This was a really big Courtyard, very clean and modern. The room was clean and nice to have the bidet option and heated toilet seat in the bathroom. Underground parking garage was good, need it to keep the homeless from breaking into your car. Location is in Monterey Park which is largely Asian. The Five 55 restaurant was good as well. Room rates were also reasonable. Would definitely stay here again.

Mixed experience. Entered the room after checking in to find the bathroom not clean. Hair on the floor, in the basin and stuck on the walls of the shower. I don’t think the shower head or thermostat controls have ever been cleaned as were covered in limescale. The fittings were also of cheap quality, unlike other Courtyard Marriotts we have stayed in elsewhere. I reported to reception and was told it would be cleaned, and we left for the day. Upon returning that night it had not been cleaned, went to reception again the following morning and was told by the same person that rooms are only cleaned every 4 days unless specially requested. I noted that I had requested it the previous day and she was the person I spoke to! No apology or sense of urgency to rectify the situation. We returned later to some of the hair having been cleaned, but the thick black hair stuck to the shower walls remained. I made use of the gym which was a good amenity, and also of the pool, however for a hotel that’s only 4/5 years old the tiling in many places is coming loose and above the water level there is black scum and thick limescale. Expensive parking rates are a put off- we parked across the street instead for free. Overall the service levels were the lasting memory and I’m not sure we would return.

Our room itself was nice and spacious. The neighborhood has good, walkable food options. However there is something really wrong with their internal communications and operations. We stayed for 3 nights and did not receive housekeeping a single time. Upon returning to our room the first time and seeing that it hadn’t been cleaned, I figured that maybe it was a situation where housekeeping needed to be specifically requested? Fine. I put in a request that same night for our room to be serviced the following day. Before leaving for the day, I double check this request with a different front desk employee. She confirms that my request is “in their system”. Low and behold, we return late night and see that our room has not been cleaned at all once again! As a side note, weirdly stingy about giving out bottled water? There’s 5 of us staying in the room but we can’t get more than 2 bottles of water a day, and it’s apparently a “super strict policy”. Such a weird angle to try to slim down costs. Given that this trip is an annual tradition for us, I would’ve liked for our stay to be excellent to save myself the trouble of finding a new hotel next year.

We came to the area for my friend’s wedding and stayed here as the location was very convenient. ||The property itself is quite nice - there is a nice hotel scent and you can tell it’s a pretty new construction. Staff, especially at the bistro, were super friendly! The room and amenities were not bad either - but here’s where things go downhill. ||Waze completely navigated us to the wrong side of the street (this should be fixed) so we spent time circling the block looking for the hotel until we saw it on the other side. ||The rooms are noisy. In general, the walls are thin. We had a room overlooking the street and could hear everythinggggg happening out there, along with whatever was happening in the rooms next door (guy with morning throat clearing issues, I’m looking at you). Also, the vent/HVAC system is noisy in that it’s not white noise! It helps noise travel from wherever directly into your room. This did not provide for a very peaceful stay. ||Finally, the parking pass provided never worked. There is a barcode that you are supposed to scan but every time we did it said “invalid code” so we had to call for help every time we went in or out of the parking garage. ||Would I stay there again? Probably not, unless I really needed to be in the area and no other alternatives were available.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary in LA and stayed at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is new and the nicest courtyard I have ever stayed in. It is in a safe quiet area right off the highway. The location is great as it is in an Asian neighborhood. If you are in the mood for bakeries or HK style cafe this is the place. There is a restaurant right in the hotel for dim sum. The hotel staff were great and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great room with nice view. The service at the front desk was great as well. Everyone super helpful and accommodating. The area is nice and quiet. Make sure to explore the little shopping area across the street as well. It’s quite nice. A couple of things were disappointing though. First the breakfast. Super expensive and not tasty at all. It was almost a joke. My recommendation go to Paris Baguette which is just 10 mins away. They have great pastries and good coffee. Much cheaper too. The second thing that was off was the pool. When I saw the pictures with the outdoor lounge, I thought there will be a bar or something with music and drinks. But there was nothing. During our stay I don’t think I saw anyone using the pool, which I think says a lot about the quality of that part of the hotel. It’s a bummer I was really looking forward to some pool time.

I booked 2 rooms and Sylvia in the front reception desk was so helpful when checking in. I booked through family and friends and didn’t have all my paperwork together so for the misunderstanding she gave us complimentary parking for our stay. Jacqueline had wonderful phone etiquette when I called the front desk for any questions. I felt very well taken care of with my stay. The rooms were spacious and clean! They even have a bidet in their toilets. Housekeeping came and cleaned our rooms daily which was an unexpected thoughtful gesture. In the app it said that housekeeping was going to clean our rooms after our stay so it was very nice of them to take care of us and they did an amazing job. The staff was so considerate, hotel was very clean, and everything felt new. I have no complaints and would recommend this location to all my friends and family. Parking is located below the hotel so the elevators conveniently take you all the way up to the floor you’re staying on. The neighborhood was quiet and located near AMC with lots of shops like daiso! We felt safe walking around the area even after the sun set.

Currently staying at the Courtyard in Monterey Park, Ca. The room is fine. Clean and spacious when we arrived. The room was not properly cleaned during our stay, for example the bed was not made, bathroom not cleaned. No diversity in cuisine nearby. However, my biggest complaint is the amount of non guests loitering in the hotel. It's actually unbelievable the amount of people using the lobby that are not guests at the hotel! Big groups of people seem to use the area to hang out. So much so that you will find it difficult to find a place to sit and work if you are a guest here and want to sit and work in the lobby. I waited over 30 minutes for a chair and that was only because of the amount of non guests. I don't get it. There is only a Starbucks in the lobby. Surely there are other Starbucks nearby. Why do the locals use this one???? They have signs on the tables and chairs saying for guests only and that they may ask for room key to verify. But, they never check. I would not stay here again based on how crowded it is. And it seems very unsecure to me that random people have access to the amenities that I, as a guest, have paid for. And, unsafe to have so many unverified people roaming the hotel. You need a key to use the elevator to the rooms. But I had a situation where someone without a key asked me to use mine to go up to the rooms. I declined based on the amount of non guests loitering. It seems unsafe. I suggest staying elsewhere until they implement some safety here.
