Our stay at the Courtyard Marriott was pretty good but could have been better. My major complaint was that there were no outlets by the bed to plug your phone into. I find this unacceptable since you can easily replace the bedside lights with ones that have a built-in plug. Almost everyone nowadays plugs their phone in at night next to their bed. The room was very large and room and bathroom were clean. My shower had great water pressure but my sister said her shower had bad water pressure. Her room was looking out over the construction across the street but she heard no noise from it. The parking is in a parking garage behind the hotel but if there are more than one of you, you can pull up in front and unload and then park in the back. We weren't impressed with the bistro where you have to buy breakfast which has minimal choices and wasn't very good - kind of like airplane food. We ate dinner the night before at the Copper Grill (steaks, seafood, chicken, etc) which is about three blocks away. It was good and reasonably priced. If you have time, there is a great sculpture garden along the riverfront across the street. It's among a nice wandering park with lots of trees and pretty views. Entrance is to the left of the amphitheater at the end of River Market Avenue.
My sister and I attended at concert at First Security Amphitheater, so we tried to find the closest hotel. Super happy we picked the Courtyard in Downtown. A five minute walk to the venue, if that. You will utilize the parking garage behind the hotel. Check-in was fast and easy. We grabbed a bite to eat at The Bistro downstairs in the lobby. It was delicious and we had great service. Came back to the hotel after the concert. The bar in the lobby is great! If you want to venture to an bar, we passed a piano bar on our walk back that seemed great! Will definitely stay here again if in the area. Very pleased with the room and the comfort of the bed.
Great hotel in a great location. There are many activities in the area around the hotel. Parking is easy and cheap. Hotel is quiet and clean.|I must also give special recognition to Sharonda for outstanding customer service. WE had a good stay here and will return.
We were a bit disappointed after we got in our rooms. First off, the staff was great. The front desk lady was a joy to work with, very sweet and helpful.
However, things went a bit down after getting to our rooms. First, we discovered there was no microwave. So instead of being able to grabsome cheap TV dinners, we had to eat from restaurants around the area that we're a bit too booshi for our taste.
Then we discovered there were no trash bags in the bins. There were very little channels on the TV and someone left their speedos under the chair.
Due to an illness I had to cancel my reservation. Imagine my surprise when my credit card was charged $125! Well, Courtyard, you got my money but will no longer get my business. A $20 or $30 cancellation fee would be reasonable when the cancellation as very little expense to the hotel, but $125 IS SIMPLY THE PERFECT WAY TO CHASE THIS CUSTOMER AWAY FOREVER! (oops, people say using all caps indicates shouting, well...I AM SHOUTING!)
Went on 510/24 for my daughter's prom in Little Rock. Had a great time. Clean comfortable room and very friendly staff. Downtown Little Rock is lots of fun and Marriott enhanced that.
Due to a sudden illness, I had to cancel a reservation. Imagine my surprise when my credit card was charged a $125 cancellation fee when I cancelled MORE than 24 hours before check in! A $20 or $30 fee would seem reasonable since a cancellation has little expense to the hotel but a $125 fee is gouging! IT'S ALSO A PERFECT WAY FOR COURTYARD TO LOSE MY BUSINESS FOREVER! (oops, people say all caps indicates shouting, well...I AM SHOUTING!)
I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member and have stayed in many Marriott affiliated hotels from high to economy range. However, this was the worst experience I had at a Courtyard.
1) The staff that checked me in on July 1st was so uneducated and rude. She just gave me the room key but did not explain anything, and when I asked for the complementary water, she replied curtly that they ran out but without any synthetic. Later, when I came down, I saw her sitting at the lounge, not doing her job.
2) The refrigerator was so noisy that I couldn't sleep and have to plug out the power. I didn't bother to talk to the staff when I recalled her attitude.
I know this is a franchise and the quality might be different but by using this kind of staff, they are destroying the Marriott brand.
