Courtyard Houston North/Shenandoah - Hotel in Shenandoah - 19255 David Memorial Dr, USA

I stayed at this location this past weekend, and the experience was terrible. There was a complete lack of hospitality, and the employees were unhelpful. The room was infested with roaches and other bugs. Dirty plates were left in the room, presumably from previous guests. The room was also uncomfortably hot. Although I requested a fan and they provided one, it didn't help. The hotel and the room both had a strange odor. During check-out, no one inquired about my stay. I was told I would receive a receipt via email, which I have yet to receive, along with a refund for the incidentals. I would like a full refund for my stay due to the poor service and the many issues with the room .

Had a really great experience staying here! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfy! Would definitely stay here again if I'm in this part of town!

Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. Hotel is under construction so no gym was available. They offered that I could walk next door to Residence Inn to use their gym. This walk is not well lit and did not feel safe at dark. Poor lighting. Upon return, room key did not work to enter at closer side entrances. So won’t be returning to do that again due to personal safety. No gym for the week I’m here. No full length mirror in room. Bed sheets had quite a bit of hairs on them. Dated room design and layout. Very unhappy having to stay here for the week.

The front desk staff were amazing. The bistro staff were helpful friendly and always had a smile for u used the laundry The machines were clean but had a funny smell in one. Room was comfy and loved the shower.

Positive: The room was nice, very large in size with comforts. The late night attendant was nice and informative. Negative: I found the breakfast lacking. The bed was decent. I?d have to be honest and say I prefer the Holiday Inn across the parking lot.

Front desk lady didn't speak English well. Pool had no towels that you could use, the furniture outside was dirty and the cushions were ill-fitting. They put me on the bottom floor near an exit door and staircase... SO LOUD. My window over looks where the gardeners park. Bar/bartender was new to making drinks, bought 2 drinks and it was over $40... 1 glass of wine (not what I asked for either, and 1 cocktail that was not great) Had someone play knock and run on the door... room was not great either, had ants and gnats... fridge wouldn't get cold. TV has very little on choices. I wish I had booked ANYWHERE else.

I got assigned to work in Huntsville, however, due to the storms, displaced residents are staying in the hotels and so I had to go outside of Huntsville to find a room. My best friend and I searched and settled on this Courtyard (we were between here and Aloft). I was truly excited to have found a Courtyard in the area that seemed to be very well-appointed and clean and having just checked out of the Courtyard in Denton, I had high hopes for this one. However... As an elite Bonvoy member with a corporate cc, I have many hotel options when I travel for work and stay for weeks at a time. It's very disappointing when I choose to book a stay at a Marriott property only to neither be recognized for my membership, loyalty and patronage, nor offered an upgrade, bonus points or even an item from the market. I don't understand why hotels carry the Marriott name if it will not earnestly welcome Marriott members. So, the front desk clerk doesn't speak English well, as someone else noted, and when I asked about any upgrades, she promptly went and got the manager. The kicker is that they both returned to the front desk and proceeded to look at me. *Insert crickets* She couldn't even communicate to him why she went and got him. SMH. Then, probably as dispassionately and unaffected as he could, he responded to my inquiry about upgrades/ complimentary breakfast, initially, with a shake of the head and then just, "no." On a good note, my reservation was promptly canceled; without there even being a bat of an eyelash between me asking and me being presented with a zero balance receipt. There was no, "I'm sorry this didn't work out for you," no, "I'm sorry but we don't offer upgrades or perks of any kind because of a-b-c." Nothing. Both manager and front desk clerk just walked off. I guess they prefer to respond to negative reviews than to communicate with guests in person. This clearly doesn't need to be called an anything by Marriott. Please fix it. UPDATE FOR A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY: I can understand room upgrades not being available, however, complimentary breakfast for elite Bonvoy members or even a welcome and/or item from the market is certainly within the hotel's purview to provide regardless of capacity. In fact, I received a coupon for breakfast at the Courtyard that I stayed in for just 3 days prior to arriving in Shenandoah for a 3 1/2 week stay (at minimum). I guess there's a lot to learn all around.
