Courtyard Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee - Hotel in Waukegan - 3800 Northpoint Blvd, USA

Beautiful, clean hotel with friendly staff that go above and beyond for guests. The bistro is pricey but food and drinks are great. The tomato soup and grilled cheese was elevated comfort food that was perfect for decompressing after a 12 hour car ride. Beds are big, clean and comfortable and bathrooms are more spacious than your average hotel. The enclosed courtyard was well kept with an outside lounge area with fire pits. Walking distance to several restaurants, a casino and shopping. Easy Highway access to get anywhere in town quickly. We stayed in this same loop of hotels when my son graduated from basic training at Great Lakes, and fell in love with Chicago. What a beautiful city, I couldn’t understand the bad rep it’s been given!

Me and my husband stayed the weekend at this hotel for our anniversary and we are beyond happy with our stay. All of the staff were super helpful and very kind and friendly. They made us feel welcome. The price we paid was well worth it for everything they have at this hotel. They have a nice hotel, pool, hot tub, and fitness center. They even have a little laundry room. They do take quarters but that’s not a big deal in my opinion. They also have a little restaurant in the hotel called The Bistro and the food is delicious! We had a nice room with a balcony and it was very clean. The hotel is also in a very convenient location. We came here to go to six flags and it’s only 10 minuets away! Maybe a 15 minuets if there’s more traffic. There is also a Starbucks across the street along with a Walmart. There is also a Denny’s across the street. Me and my husband were able to walk to these places which was really convenient. Overall, a wonderful hotel and highly recommend staying here whether it be for a weekend or a longer stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and this was easily the best Courtyard by Marriott hotel we have stayed at to-date. The room was perfectly clean, extraordinarily ergonomic and even included a small balcony despite not being a suite. The service was stupendous, the pool & hot tub were excellent and the courtyard, of course, was magnificent. The price was also quite appreciated. In addition, there is a Starbucks, Denny’s and Walmart all within walking distance. Moreover, being only 3 miles from the renowned Six Flags amusement park, we watched their nightly fireworks from our balcony with leisure.

I stayed for one night with some friends to go to a concert in the area. The renovations they are doing throughout the facility are very nice but there were some hangups that would make me reconsider staying here again. ||We stayed in a standard double queen. The rooms were also recently redone. The balcony on the rooms are a nice touch. However, if you are not used to noise, I highly recommend requesting a room that doesn't face the freeway. It was SO loud at night, especially when trucks would whir on by.||The pillows were not good. I can usually adapt to a hotel pillow, especially for a one night stay, but these were so uncomfortable. Paired with the extra-firm mattress, I could not get comfortable all night. The other two friends that stayed with me were both in agreement on this as well.||With that being said, there are also many pluses to this property. The main areas are very nice and I liked the addition to the Starbucks counter. The front desk staff was really kind, prompt, and personable. The pool area is large and has plenty of seating. It looked like there was a private, outside area connected to the pool for the warmer months. The renovated bathrooms in the rooms are very nice, especially the shower. The property is also within walking distance to a Walmart and multiple restaurants.||Overall good hotel that needs improvement on the small things.

Positive: It was newly remodeled so it was clean. Negative: Lots! Pictures show keurig coffee makers, and lotion at the sink. Neither were in our room, no microwave, not art work on the walls, fridge had previous persons food in it, no free breakfast.

We thought we had reserved a 1 bedroom suite. We got a regular guest room. I haven't stayed at a Marriott in a long time. I don't think I will again. No microwave in the room, no keurig coffee maker even though there was one in the picture, only 2 bath towels in the room, fridge had last guests food and drinks in it, no lotion at bathroom sink even though it's in a picture, there is no art hanging on the walls in the room, no fan in the bathroom, no luggage rack, no free breakfast (free coffee in lobby but its not advertised and we weren't told about it. Didn't realize it was even there until I ordered coffee from the cafe in the lobby). I plugged my USB charger into the back of the clock to charge my phone overnight - the clock is battery operated, no plug-in so it doesn't charge.... Basically, zero perks. I normally stay at Hiltons and will continue to do so after this. $200 a night for a stripped down basic room with no real amenities is about $100 to much.

Erin (I hope I’m spelling that right) at the front desk was super nice and helpful. I had a long day of traveling so it felt really good to receive her friendly welcome. She also did a great job taking care of myself and the line of people around me.

Indoor pool is the best thing ever. Rooms are ok, beds say Queen but it was full. Nice large TV so that's a plus. Also quiet walls, you can't hear nothing and that is a plus also. Good gym, some free weights, plenty of treadmills. Location is the best, plenty of places around to get stuff from.
