I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Courtyard Carolina Beach. Every employee was gracious and accommodating. Great cocktails & coffees courtesy of Jamie G, Johnnie, and Laura. While sitting just off the lobby at various times, I was able to observe the Front Desk interact with many different guests/requests. Elizabeth, Tish, Michael, Luke, and Keith sorted everyone promptly and courteously. A couple of housekeeping/maintenance requests were resolved in short order by Victor, Adam, and Nathaniel. My compliments to Parker and Stan for assembling such an excellent crew! A plus was the amazing views of the full moon rising...
Jamie did amazing with our drinks in the morning, especially being by herself. Quick and delicious, I didn’t know if she was being reviewed by the other woman there. BUT, if she was, she deserves an A for her speediness, and helpfulness with choosing a coffee and where to go visit during our trip. Overall, the stay was great. Rooms were clean and staff at the front were very friendly and helpful. I believe his name was Parker, and he was very helpful with our reservation as well.
The staff really made the vacation perfect! Starting with Tish and Parker at the front desk who both went above and beyond to make sure my husband who was recovering from hip surgery had whatever he needed to be comfortable! They were always so upbeat and pleasant and nothing was too much to ask! Laura at the bistro and bar was amazing and able to do three things at once, making sure all of the guests had what we needed, and were taken care! We liked her friendly and upbeat attitude. What a difference the staff could make!! Of course the location of the hotel is perfect and all the rooms have a balcony and a view. Our room was super clean, and we were really impressed! Thanks to Laura, Tish and Parker for a great stay!!
Had a great stay here. Rooms were nice, but we spent little time in the room as we were right next to the ocean. Service was incredible! Everyone was so nice and helpful. The breakfast burritos are some of the best I've ever had. The bartenders were very funny and personable. It felt like the whole hotel new us and made sure we were happy our entire stay
Elizabeth J made check-in so sweet for our family :D. We got a great room, and Marriott made our trip very special! Thanks to Michael O too for a great visit! ||Wonderful view! Great check in and check out policies! Kind customer service! Clean room!
Amazing hotel! Clean and organized. Johnny G was so warm and welcoming! Truly a gift to the hospitality business! He was great with recommending restaurants and thing to do around town! Very easy to talk to and able to connect with his guests!
I want to start by saying that the reception staff were some of the kindest, most welcoming hotel staff I've ever encountered. Unfortunately, this great experience with hotel staff was quickly overshadowed once I settled into our room. As a former Courtyard Marriott employee, I was astonished by the disrepair and lack of cleanliness of this hotel. Our room had large stains on the wall, large stains on the couch, a poorly fitted sheet that never stayed on, mold and hair in the shower, mold all over the removable shower curtain, a balcony secured with plastic PVC pipe railing, no microwave, the smell of smoke from other people in other balconies smoking, only one working elevator for part of our stay, etc. Most concerning of the issues encountered were: 1. A stinky bathroom faucet. It smelled so terrible and the water felt disgusting, so we had to resort to using the bathroom shower to wash our hands and using bottled water to brush our teeth. 2. Malfunctioning AC unit. The unit would be set at 72 but then would eventually switch over to a cooler setting. At one point, it was reading 65 degrees despite the AC being set at 72. Sometimes it would power off and provide no AC. The window unit was also incredibly loud and sounded like rushing water everytime it turned on and would wake us up in the middle of the night. The unit above ours was also leaking a steady stream on to our balcony, so we could only use part of the balcony. 3. Also shocking was how loud the amusement park next door was. We were placed near the amusement park side of the hotel. The sounds and music from this park extended beyond 11 pm each night and was nearly unbearable to sleep through. There was no warning about this or solutions to limit/muffle noise (ie ear plugs, sound machines, etc.). It felt like a concert was occurring every night in our room. 4. An extremely dirty floor. I had to change my socks multiple times per day as they felt oily and turned black from the carpet. I never felt like I was clean. I was also shocked that there was a parking fee, which I do not recall seeing during booking. Overall, this was not a peaceful stay and absolutely ruined my Courtyard Marriott experience. I did not find it useful to complain to anyone during my stay as moving to another room would not change the experience as it appeared most of the hotel was dirty as well. I also didn't want to leave my stay early because I had already made plans and arrangements during my time in Carolina Beach. I am not sure if ever stay at a Courtyard again, but will definitely recommend others to steer clear from this specific property.
My family and I were excited to spend the long Labor Day weekend at Courtyard Carolina Beach. We chose this hotel because of its #1 rating, the location, and being part of the Marriott brand. I usually select a Marriott branded hotel, if prices are similar. Upon arrival, I was a little surprised at the condition of the building. The windows are all very cloudy and there were 7 or 8 sheets of drywall leaning against the wall at the main entrance and it stayed there for the entire weekend. Check in was quick and smooth. The elevators were quick and operational. As I entered the room, I was excited to see the oceanfront view from our 5th floor room. The windows were so cloudy, you couldn’t see out of them, so we had to sit on the balcony to view the ocean. The furniture on the balcony looked as if it came from Dollar General! 2 small plastic chairs and a table. The pool looked nice, but is surprisingly small! Add to the fact that many people reserve pool loungers with a towel and then head out for a day at the beach, made seating around the pool impossible to find. The pool advertises it closes at 10:00 pm. This was not the case. Hotel personnel came by every evening at 8:00 pm announcing the pool was closing. The location of the hotel is right on the boardwalk, which is extremely convenient. But it is also very loud in the area until around 11:00 pm every night. Bring ear plugs! I fully expected to have breakfast at the hotel each morning, but with the $25 per person price tag for a very small and limited buffet made us find alternate options.||Overall, our stay was very “average.” If the Hilton, on the other end of the boardwalk, were similarly priced. I’d choose it.

Took the family at the end of August for our annual beach trip. First time staying here, but always go to the Carolina Beach Kure Beach area. Great little place for a family vacation. Couldn't have asked for anything more. It's right on the beach. Ac
Was greeted the second I walked in the door the hostess was very nice. I took a seat at the bar. I just loved the ambiance of the place and music selection. The bartender recommended his daily special cocktail, and I was glad he did. I started wit
Where my dream started. Itâs all because a boy asked me on a date and he took me to this exact spot 8 years ago. Bbq burgers on the beach and watched a full moon rise! You could drive all the way down back then and it was much cheaper! Fast forward
Great location. And a good deal. The old-school 2nd-floor 2-BR suite was very clean. Nice view of Carolina Lake. Short walk to the beach. No complaints. Would/will do it again. Mary runs a tidy ship.
Loved Carolina Beach. The boardwalk fireworks show was the best I have ever seen in my life. Brits Donuts is a must, and all the shops are great. Super ice cream shops too.
Best run business in the area. Beyond efficient. Small breakfast house with delish home-cooked meals. Fresh and well prepared southern breakfast along with many new school options. Grits were among the best I've ever had. And I eat them several times
This is the place to go as a sushi lover! It was my 20th birthday and we decided to have a birthday dinner here. The fish was so buttery and fresh! I got salmon roe as well as sushi and it was so fresh that it tasted like they had just collected it
The last time I came here was 2018 but I finally came back and itâs just as wonderful! The crab dip is my favorite thing, but everything is delicious! The waitstaff is very friendly and polite and the atmosphere is super cozy and tropical. I will p
