Lacking curb appeal from the road. There is a chain link fence across the windows. The lobby/bar area is modern and the staff is very friendly. The bartender was very nice and made excellent drinks. The front desk and cleaning service was dressed more appropriately. The rooms were decent, but the sound echoed due to the laminate flooring. The HVAC system is a bit noisy. If you're a light sleeper you might want ear plugs. The bathroom was not really big enough for two because of the door and it was in need of minor cosmetic repairs. The breakfast menu was short and sweet and pricey. We ate at a nice restaurant 5 min away and had a delicious breakfast for about the same price. They do have a quick store for snacks and drinks near the front desk. There is also an ATM on site so you don't have to worry about using one on the street.

The hotel is in a great location. It's within walking distance of the French Quarter and Canal Street, the National World War II Museum and even the River Walk Outlet Mall. My room was clean. The windows of the rooms face in. Not a fan of that. Had to keep curtain closed the whole time. I was disappointed in the "restaurant". It seems like there were only breakfast sandwiches for food options. There were fruit and yogurt options as well. The "dinner" menu was lacking. Not a lot of choices. I only recall seeing a few appetizers, 2 flatbread options, 2 pough boy options. I wasn't expecting a 4 course meal, but there could have been a few more options. It's a good thing there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. ||If you are only staying a night or 2, this hotel is fine. If you are staying 3 nights or more, stay at another hotel. ||T. Ajalat

Ashley L is the best employee I have ever encounter with! She has the best customer service I done ever seen! The young lady is caring, expert in her field and very understanding. My family was so grateful for her help as we travel her for a family funeral she has made this trip smoothly as possibly. Upon check in she was nice, efficient and very clear explaining the hotel fees and process of parking. Throughout our stay she remain polite by checking on my family during our hard time. She even gave recommendation to help with comfort! Please show her recognition because she not just doing her job. She is doing it with love! This is an appreciation post for Ms. Ashley L. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

The worst experience for the first day of a vacation I have ever had. Don’t bring a car, don’t think about. The parking either by valet or self parking is worse than what I have experienced in both NYC or San Francisco. During Marti Gras they don’t have valet service in the afternoon and if you arrive late in the day, you must park several blocks away. (Oh it only saves you $3 to self park) Be careful and don’t use Google Maps to find your way to the hotel if you are walking, it takes you on a 1-1/2 mile journey versus knowing you are 4 blocks away. Hotel staff at desk take a “ that’s the way it is” attitude. I guess they have enough business that they can be caviler about making guests walk 4 blocks, luggage in tow. I asked if the had a shuttle to bring guests from the garage to the hotel and the answer was no. Booked a room with a balcony, but they switched us to one on the 5th floor. It has a view of the building across the street but you can’t see St Charles and watch the parade because the desk and TV block your access to the windows. HVAC was not working properly, maintenance said the unit needs a new actuator. When I ask why they don’t replace it, the Tech said he can’t help it if the don’t allow him to order parts. Front Desk staff, including Operations Manager, said I should have gotten an email regarding valet issues on our arrival day, but the only email I got was to check in. When we were trying to find a place to park, called 3 different Marriott numbers ( enough on the Bobvoy promotions) and after close to 40 minutes of going through the phone trees, speaking to people in Texas and Arizona got through to our hotel. . That how we found out that we needed to park 4 blocks away. Took us over 3 hours to drive from the airport, park and walk to the front desk. Then, because by the time we checked , we missed our dinner reservations. The only food at the hotel is a limited bar menu. Very limited, almost like an after thought. Condiments are those little packages of mustard, salt and such. Expected better. Don’t even use plates to serve the food. I expected a lot more compassion and insight into what guest’s experience might be and how to make it more enjoyable and less difficult. This experience has changed my whole opinion of Marriott and I am going to see if I can change to a different hotel when I go to South Lake Ta

Lovely balcony. Rooms are a bit outdated. Great location. But - Staff are all super pleasant welcoming and friendly! Ashley checked me in and the bartender (forgot to get his name) was also very friendly **Tip: $25 overnight self parking garage at 145 Roosevelt (3-6 blocks away)**

I needed a quick room in New Orleans and the price and location were right. Unfortunately, they "upgraded" me to perhaps the smallest jail cell of a room which was so noisy. I saw other rooms which were much larger, including the type I had originally booked, which was an interior room without a balcony. They never acknowledged my Platinum status, but obviously they recognized it because they "upgraded" me, and the staff was just so-so about the guests being there, not rude, but not at all welcoming. If you have status and see an upgrade, just know that the balcony is incredibly noisy (especially on the 2nd floor where they put me, right next to the JW Marriott which has speakers outside that I could hear inside my room). I could be a great location if the room choice is better, and it's convenient to Canal and lots of great places to eat between there and Poydras. Just don't expect much.

Lovely balcony. Rooms are a bit outdated. But - Staff are all super pleasant welcoming and friendly! Ashley checked me in and the bartender (forgot to get his name was also very friendly and made the recommendation for Frenchman St festivities. They are all hardworking associates who make it their mission to welcome all guest.

I booked a king bed with a balcony through a third party (American Airlines). We checked in and were assigned a room. We get to the room and it's a queen bed, no balcony with a musty smell. I returned to the front desk and was told that all the rooms (King with a balcony) were sold out and they didn't have a room for me. They were willing to cancel the room without penalty. However, they left me scrambling for a room. They didn't offer me an equivalent room at a sister hotel, nothing. I had to make multiple calls to find lodging. Epic fail on Marriott's part. Note: I showed the front desk my reservation, showing the type of room I paid for. The one star is for the friendly staff.
