Courtyard by Marriott Long Island Islip/Courthouse Complex - Hotel in Central Islip - 11 Court House Dr, USA

I chose this hotel because I was coming from another state to have surgery in a nearby hospital. I could not have chosen a better place to recuperate. The hotel is spotless, quiet, and the bed extremely comfortable. I originally booked two nights but only needed one. I explained the situation to the manager who kindly refunded my account for the second night. Great customer service. It was convenient having the on-site restaurant although the food was just mediocre. However, service at the restaurant was great. I highly recommend this hotel.

A few things I want to mention about this Courtyard: Plus: 1. Rooms are unique style, liking the long shower basin. 2. Decent small gym with newer equipment. No inddor bike though. 3. No ridiculous parking fee like other nearby Courtyards. 4. Responsive AC, heating. Fairly quick heated water. 5. Good front desk personnel. Minus: 1. Crappy mini-fridge that has button to press to keep it running for only 8 hours, then it shuts off. That made me annoyed. 2. No garbage cans near side entrances. 3. Even though rooms were nice, hallway and stairway carpets had many stains throughout where I walked. Pets allowed here? 4. Body wash ran out within 2 days of only me showering. 5. No free breakfast. I stayed at Springhill Suites in Pittsburgh for equal or lower room rate and they had free hot breakfasts each morning.

Positive: Bed was comfortable. Had problem with A/C that was fixed promptly. Negative: No complimentary hot beverages. No continental breakfast. Small swimming pool. Fitness center had a strange smell.

If you enjoy being woken up between 3am and 5am from someone coughing up a lung and screaming to Jesus, you should stay here. I have been staying here once a month but will not come back. Staff is friendly and courteous but that’s all there is. You will not get a refund or credit or room change for any reason. Flights were cancelled and family couldn’t come so how come I can’t just get a credit for next month?? Then I complain about the noise at 3am but that means nothing so I’m stuck not able to sleep in a room that I’m forced to stay in with no refund or credit for a next visit. Last time I’m staying here and I used to like this place.

Over all is a nice hotel, spacious, nice area!! But the fan smells like pee, is disgusting the humidity smell!!! And not a really clean room bring your own cleaning supplies !! Who ever is I charged in spectating the cleanness of each room doesn’t care at all.

Untrustworthy staff! I had an issue where it was apparent that an employee stole something out of a bag I had inadvertently left at the front desk when I checked in. Despite multiple identifying characteristics of the bag, (embroidered monogram, prescription medication with my name) the bag was not returned to me until I went back the next day and retrieved it. At that time I realized an expensive item was missing. Marriott told me they would do their own investigation and I have still not heard anything. Disappointment all around. I stay in Marriott's several times per month and have never had an issue this bad.

The hotel is clean and well-appointed, but there are some key issues. 1. The fridge works on a 2 hr button. So if you want to use it, you get 2 hrs until you have to hit the button again. That's completely unusable for people like me with dietary restrictions, or for anyone with medical needs, etc. No one uses fridges in 2 hr increments. 2. The light switch controls ALL the lights so it's all on, or all off. 3. The breakfast options are flat out robbery. Expect to pay $40 for 2 people. There are, however, Dunkin locations nearby which is what we went with. Check in and check out were super fast so that was a plus.

There was a new waitress on our first night. I ordered chicken quesadilla and I ordered a turkey with bacon club sandwich for my husband. My quesadilla was left too long in the toasteroven fried and chard. The new waitress thought it was fine for me to consume. Then she brought a grill cheese and tomato soup for my husband and said that was her favorite meal, he'd like it. I said but I never ordered that she said well I can show you the receipt. Smh.. the receipt which she wrote up. Nonetheless my husband liked his meal. I wasn't very happy and we ate out after that. Redemption a long day and different waitress a few days later we ordered dinner and both enjoyed our meal and service. Training takes time as does learning but never decide what a customer should eat and never fabricate what a customer said as we never forget such things. Our room had a wet mildew like smell coupled by several flying nates. We purchased small space refresh for our week stay. The nice staff did offer to relocate us but packing and unpacking wasn't an option as our days were very busy. Thank you for the offer.. I think house keeping or engineer need to really check that room for moisture as flying Nats tell a story. Big spacious room nice garden view..
