Room smelled like stinky socks from all the youth athletic teams that stay there. King-sized room was beautiful and the small lights behind the TV provided just enough light to see but not ruin your TV watching experience. Lobby was impressive. Management quickly took care of problem we had. Shower was huge but because of this, they only had half of a wall and no wall therefore the water felt warm rather than hot. I would definitely stay here again. Location of hotel is great and streetcar is close to the hotel. If you drive there is an extra fee but it includes valet parking. Vehicle was there on time when we used their website to say we needed it.

The best part of this hotel is the location. It is right in the center of downtown Kansas City, with lots to do within walking distance. The rooms were nice and relatively clean. But my positive comments end there. ||||When I arrived, it was late, and I was tired. The check in itself was alright and the front desk worker, albeit also clearly tired himself, was kind enough. Being my first time staying in this hotel, I didn’t understand the valet parking situation. When I asked if there was a self-parking option because I couldn’t afford the valet rate each night, I was told by the valet attendant that it was the only option and I had to use them. So, not only did they not mention in the hotel description anything about valet parking, but also I wasn’t allowed to park my own car, and was FORCED to use the valet service. ||||The next day, I went to pick up my fiancé from the airport, and when he arrived, he told me some extra charges were put on his card. We both assumed it was the valet service, as the surcharge for incidentals had already been placed when I checked in. When we arrived back at the hotel, we saw there was a self-pay parking lot right next to the hotel at a fraction of the cost. So, we decided to ask to cancel the valet service. I wish it ended there. We approached the valet attendant on the way in, asking about the charges for the valet service, and she directed us to the front desk. When we went to the front desk, we were met by the worst customer service I have ever experienced. ||||JJ Chae was her name. She was beyond rude when we asked about the charges to my fiancé’s card, which to us seemed a reasonable concern, but she couldn’t be bothered to help us. We understood that our final bill wouldn’t come until we checked out, but her tone and attitude were so rude it was on the verge of disrespectful. When we started to ask about the valet being charged to our card, she interrupted us and shook her hand at us, telling us curtly to go talk to the valet attendant (the one who told us to go to the front desk) because they were “not affiliated with the valet”. So we went to the valet attendant and asked about the valet service, letting her know that we did not want to use it and would rather park in the lot next door. She then vehemently urged us not to park there, warning us that “you have to pay every time you leave the lot” and if anything happens to the car, the hotel can’t do anything (not that they would, according to other reviews here). But that was all a lie. My fiancé and I paid 20$ for all 4 days we were there, and we came and went as we pleased at no extra charge. When we insisted, she told us to go to the front desk - THE ONE WHO TOLD US TO GO TO THE VALET!! She walked us over to the front desk, and only then, did JJ Chae actually do her job and remove the valet service from our bill, which she said she was unable to do. ||||Aside from that, if you are in the Courtyard hotel (it is a dual hotel, Courtyard and Residence Inn), you do not have any access to the restaurant, even if you are willing to pay extra for it. You have to go to a bar with limited options, making us feel like lower class guests and treating us as such. ||||I cannot tell you which hotel to stay at, but I can tell you that there are better options with everything you need and more, right there in KC. Do not stay here. Save your money.

Had a great experience here. Rooms and lobby were very clean. They had a nice pool as well. Staff we encountered were all friendly and polite. The only downfall was the price of valet parking.

Car Stolen From Valet Service If I could rate a 0 for the valet, I would. We arrived with a car on Thursday and Saturday it was no where to be found. Our car was stolen from the valet parking garage. No cameras in the parking garage, the gate to the garage was broken, and absolutely no liability/responsibility claimed by Marriott or the valet service. Hotel stay was nice and mostly clean however sheets were stained the first night. I typically don’t complain but obviously don’t have a car because I trusted their service. I would recommend taking parking into your own hands and definitely not their service.

Great location. New-ish clean and updated hotel. Feels upscale and not a typical Courtyard. Lots of entertainment and good food within walking distance. Short staffed during holidays resulted in longer waits.

The valet service was excellent. I want to especially thank Quentin for helping me get my family’s bags squared away while we were checking out. He provided personable service during the entire week of my stay, knowing my name and vehicle within a day of my arrival.

Let me tell you, this place is absolutely garbage. The only good thing about it IS the location, you got Starbbys round the corner and some restaurants within walking distance, which is clutch because that was the only thing keeping me sane. You had the valet service who lied about thw parking and telling me I had no other option, which is false, I mean this place is notorious for getting vehicles stolen from their valet parking garage. We used one night because we fell into their trap and they took 30 min looking for our car which I mean, come on, you have 1 job. Found out that right next door was a parking lot that you pay half the cost. But yeah front desk lady was rude and just trash at her job, I asked for some simple payment information on my card and she said she couldn't do it, later on turns out she could. I just recommend you look for another location to stay at.

We stayed here for one night and because the valet was the only option, we had them park our car. Within an hour of parking, the garage was broken into and our car was stolen. An hour after that, the hotel contacted us to inform us our car was stolen. The hotel management and the valet management didn't call the police to let them know that their garage was broken into. The hotel and the valet parking denied any fault and admitted it has been a problem in the past, but refuse to do anything about it. They don't have cameras in their garage to prevent incidents like this.
