We only stayed one night here en route to Niagara Falls and we absolutely loved it. I believe the hotel was very recently refreshed as everything in the room looked clean and new. The bed is extremely comfortable and spacious enough to fit 2 kids in a king room as it comes with a sofa bed. ||The hotel has great amenities and a lot of lounge space in the lobby. The lobby cafe also has Starbucks coffee. Service at the cafe was amazing by the 2 lovely ladies.||Shoutout to Lisa at the Reception for giving us such a warm welcome. I highly recommend this hotel.
Overall it is a beautiful and cozy hotel. I would give all 5 starts, but rooms need to be cleaned with more details. Some hair on the floor, bathroom streaks from dirty rags. Hotel has been renovated, however it seems like they left old couches in the room. All sagged and dated. See photo. Overall hotel is finishing renovations and hopefully after all done, it will be an amazing and cozy place to stay. Nice small pool with a private yard makes it a nice retreat, however highway noise kills the vibe. I’d add speakers and music to overcome car noise.
Was initially excited about staying at the this hotel in close proximity to everything. Checked in and made them aware that I have two rooms and would like to have basic service to each room (towels refreshed, etc). Stayed a total of 6 days and received no service. Not even towel refresh. Went to the front desk to speak with someone about it. The guy just brushed it off and said that he will notify the manager. No apology or anything. This property does not deserve to be a Marriott. Not Marriott quality.
PS: previously worked for Marriott Headquarters unknown to the staff.
This hotel presents a lot of inconsistencies. It is really good in some ways, but bad in others. For example: the bed was made up immaculately and the sheets were soft and very clean. You could tell that some real care was put into this by housekeeping. On the other hand, some of the furniture in our suite looked ready for the junk yard. The bottom of the sitting room table appeared to be gnawed at by a beaver—an interesting look to say the least! Also, check-in was fast and friendly. But, there wasn’t a complimentary breakfast, which I feel is the norm in these type of traveler’s hotels off of the freeway. Room was huge, but the bathroom was tiny. Bathroom was clean, but obvious stains on the living area carpet. Etc., etc.|Our stay was quiet and uneventful, but still, I’m not sure the value was there.
Arrived to find room smelling of weed even though we clearly asked for a non smoking room. Bed and bath were clean but two drinking glasses provided were dirty and clearly had not been replaced when the last guests left. Desk top had rings from glasses left on it, and full-length mirror was totally streaked. Cushion on fold-out couch was backwards. While not deal-breakers, these things are all a sign of lack of attention to detail usually seen at a Marriott. Disappointed.
Patio door can hurt... WATCH OUT! IT STICKS
Clean hotel with awesome evening atmosphere and staff (especially Donna). Small but suitable fitness room (without towels). Ample parking and gorgeous rear patio!
So disappointed in my stay this past weekend at the Amherst Courtyard.
We checked in to our room at 3:30 and everything seemed fine. Went to the room to discover that the ac was not working and the tv was not working. Stopped at the front desk on my way out to dinner and the associate said they would send maintenance up to check. Came back from dinner and the same associate said there was no maintenance man on call. Then the person said that because they had a “blackout” or commonly referred to as a power outage that the cable was only working in the bar area. What???
Wait… there is more
The shower did not have any conditioner and the shower head was held up by a shoelace.
Needless to say, will not be staying there again.
Checked in and the first room they sent me to had someone else in it…the door wasn’t closed completely and when I looked in you could see someone had been laying in the bed. I immediately went back to the front desk and requested a new room. The moved me to room 410. The room is in dire need of repair/updating as is the entire hotel. Bedding has been washed too many times and there are stains on the floors. Hallways are drab and furniture/windows/walls are beat up. Avoid until repairs/updated!
