Courtyard Basking Ridge - Hotel in Basking Ridge - 595 Martinsville Rd, USA

I was here for a wedding, and what stood out was how hospitable the staff was. I had to call the front desk several times with favors, and they were always welcoming and accommodating. After my stay, I left several things in the room by mistake. They proactively reached out and shipped everything back to me. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The hotel was fine - clean and in a great location for our needs. The service disappointed when I checked out and ran my credit card for a room that had been reserved under a different family member's name. Even though the card was swiped and the front desk person - Caesar - indicated everything went through smoothly...it did not. The room was charged to the other family member. When I called and spoke with Samantha, she was rude and unhelpful. Courtyards by Marriott are usually my preferred hotels, but no longer.

I have stayed here often and enjoy this hotel.
 Early check in was ok and the desk manager was nice and professional. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. The layout of some rooms make it difficult to watch TV without having to sit sideways, so check photos before making a selection. The pool and work out facility are very nice. During my last 3 night stay the hot tub was out of service which was disappointing since I usually look forward to using it. The bistro has some nice and reasonably priced food and drinks. Bistro staff and other hotel staff have always been helpful and friendly.

Hotel staff: Friendly, accommodating with check-in/out. Bonvoy app convenient. Breakfast bistro decent with coffee & options. Hotel: Dated carpets & decor. Initial elevator dog pee smell addressed after complaint. Room slightly musky but clean. No handheld showerhead, no si to slip mat in shower, odd room layout with TV/DESK. Wi-Fi slow, relied on 5G hotspot. Loved the quiet hours on the 4th floor & very comfortable bed & pillows. Location: Major drawback. Cannot turn left out of hotel, adding 7-10 minutes to any trip. Inconvenient for Morristown/Madison area. Overall: Average experience, 3.5 stars. Solid place for sleep, confortable bed and service. Just needs a little updates and quality of life changes.

Stayed here on a business trip for 6 days, very helpful and friendly staff both at the reception and the Bistro restaurant (special thank you to the breakfast staff, and bar staff Joanna and Edgar). The rooms were comfortable but the bathroom was starting to look a little dated. There was some traffic noise from the Interstate that runs close by, but this is dependent on which side of the hotel your room is located, best avoid the side that is located over the central gardens if you’re susceptible to this. The TV system allowed an HDMI connection so I could use my iPad (I brought my own cable), good thinking. The alarm clock had two standard USB ports, but you’ll need adapters if your phone etc is recent and uses USB-C. The bathroom and common area cleaning could have been more attentive as there were long black hairs in the bathtub and dubious traces on the tiled floor leading to the reception. The gym was well equipped, and the running machines easy to use. Again cleaning in the pool area could have been better (floor around the windows were not clean at all).

As someone who spends 300+ nights a year in hotels, I do NOT recommend this one. The wifi goes out several times EVERY day! There was a refrigerator that was only getting down to about 55 degrees F in a room I stayed in. I asked if they could replace it and they did.... with one in another room that I ended up staying in 2 weeks later. About 2 months after that, I came across it AGAIN in yet another room. (I knbow it was the same one because it had the same scratches on it.) The sink stop in the room I am currently in is broken. I was in this same room 2 years ago.... and it was broken then, too. Avoid this place.
