Courtyard Ames - Hotel in Ames - 311 S 17th St, USA

Very nice hotel. I arrived late and left early. Every bit worth the stay here. Huge friendly and inviting lobby. Staff was great. Rooms were well kept and modern. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was great, with a nice shower. The fitness center is above average with cardio, dumbbells and a universal gym.

Comfortable stay overall. There was no room upgrade, but they added my Marriott number to my reservation, though it didn't link to my Bonvoy app. Hopefully, it will be reflected shortly. The breakfast was good, and I recommend the avocado toast. The hotel is a short walk from the movie theater and TJ Maxx. The staff was super friendly.

I’ve stayed at this Courtyard multiple times and have always had the best treatment! My favorite is their breakfast potatoes-worth the price! Yum! Starbucks in house makes everything easier and there’s a Scooters right next door in case you’d rather have that! Very clean and always hot showers! Excellent, consistent care!

This is a relatively new Courtyard, conveniently located near the highway and no too far from campus. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and that’s a big plus. The hotel has a nice gym and a small indoor pool. The rooms are pretty good, but the walls are thin. If you are a light sleeper you may have an issue here. The beds are very nice though, as are the pillows. The staff is not very friendly and only does the bear minimum. The breakfast person didn’t even deliver the breakfast to the table - even though there were no other guests in the breakfast area. The same was the case in the evening - no extra effort and always the sense of entitlement to get tipped, in spite of substandard service. We also asked to have our room cleaned and that didn’t happen either. We probably will try another hotel next time.

We stayed here during odyssey of the mind world finals 2024. Hotel is beautiful, clean, well appointed. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Great beds, fluffy pillows and big brigh window. Hotel staff was great, Chloe made awesome breakfast sandwiches and I enjoyed the Starbucks offerings. Pool was clean, good sized but wow the echo when you get a few kids in there. The best part was the outside courtyard area with tables, privacy, and the most amazing fire table. Would 100% stay here again room 324 was great. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This hotel is a rip off!! You pay a lot more money than other hotels in town and get no amenities!|No free breakfast!! Not even free coffee!! Please find a different hotel in Ames where you can save a few dollars and get free breakfast with free coffee. Yes this is a nice clean and modern hotel... But is it worth it?? Try the Best Western, Holiday Inn Express or Staybridge, etc.||I was told by Marriott Bonvey when making the call that breakfast was included and obviously the right hand didn't know what the left was doing. I called Marriott Bonvey the next morning explaining the situation and thought I'd get some compensation but there was no avail. I was told that I would get a follow-up call from the company and they would try to make things right with me... Nobody from the company followed through. Marriott Bonvey, your customer service sucks!!!

Customer service when checking in was terrible, bathroom toilet was not clean, breakfast options were not free, coffee was not free, trashcan at entry was overflowing when we checked in and again in the morning when we checked out. The entry, elevator, halls were clean and the bed very comfortable. Small issues add up, not worth the price I paid.

We were in town for a family wedding. With our large families, and a bigger variety of likes and dislikes, the hotel was able to easily accommodate all of us, including both indoor and outdoor seating (complete with an outdoor fire pit!) for our group to socialize without crowding into one person’s private room. They had a minimal selection of snacks and drinks for purchase, but had no trouble with us expanding with our own food and drink. We even ordered delivery pizza from Casey’s gas station. Sounds cray, but give it a try, especially the breakfast pizza, available all day and night. That was good advice from locals. ||Rooms are clean, comfy, and efficient with a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig in each room. There were plenty of outlets and charging plugs in several areas of the clean, bright room, and a huge flat screen TV. There are different types of rooms to accommodate different needs, just ask for what you prefer. Kids loved the indoor pool, hubby and I loved the workout/gym area. Location was excellent, easy to find, and close to so many things. Our favorites included the German bakery and (don’t laugh) the grocery store HyVee was a great spot for a different option of a $10 meal every day of the week. Local favorite was Thursday Steak Night, but we liked the hibachi. ||If you don’t have a car, there’s food across the parking lot, an easy walk. ||Staff was all friendly and super helpful, and housekeeping Karen was amazing as well. Nearby stores include Aldi, Walmart, and Target.||The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave.
