Country Kitchen Restaurant & Bakery - American restaurant in Redding - 1099 Hilltop Dr, USA

Was highly disappointed in this place and had high hopes for it. Me and my son we’re dropping off a package to UPS and my son said smells good can we go so I said sure. We walked in and were greeted kindly but after that everything went down hill we were sat down and the waitress didn’t show up for close to 20 minutes to take our order now mind you they were busy so I understood that she was busy but when the two tables across from us got seated later after we did and had ordered and got there food already before we ordered that didn’t sit well with me. We finally ordered our food and got it fairly quick so that was a plus but the food it self was bland the tenderloin pork was not tender but chew and hard like a hockey puck and the hash browns we flavorless while eating I asked for a glass of water and I never got it finished my meal and paid. I still Left a good tip cause none the less they were working hard but I hope Management reads this and can focus on the area that might need improving cause for now I can’t see myself going back or even recommending this place.

Great lil breakfast spot. there was a line when they opened. Service was very quick and tasty.

Quality restaurant and great service. Food is freshly made with homemade items and large portion sizes. Extremely friendly staff, food arrived quickly. Couldn’t leave without getting one of the huge cinnamon rolls to go. Next time we are on I-5 heading southbound we will definitely make the stop at County Kitchen.

This place was great! Very good sized portions and tasty. The toast we had was also made in house and very good. The atmosphere was pleasant, the wait staff friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I would eat here again. My kids were full and satisfied. The youngest got to pick his character for his pancake (An ice cream cone). They also accommodated substitutions, as we are vegetarian.

It came to my attention that the Country Kitchen was on the VA list of providing free meals to the Redding California area on Veterans Day, I had a couple veteran friends go into the restaurant on Saturday and the Restaurant had a sign posted by the front door that they were mistakenly posted as giving a free meals to veterans on veteran's day and would only be able to provide a free cup of coffee. After hearing about this I will never enter this establishment and would recommend that all other veterans and patriotic people in Shasta County do the same.

Im still sitting at the table. Only a few bites left. Had to take a breather! They definately dont skimp on portion! I had the Denver omlet and a Belgin waffle side, hash browns smothered in country gravy and rye toast. They even bring the syrup heated! Details...they take care of em! I think i caught myself making noise with every bite. Kinda like a German Sheopard guarding his bowl! I highly recomend all the above, with 10 thumbs up! Im about to pop, but I can't not eat every bit. Hats off to the cook, service, & hostess! I've had few dining experiences this pleasant. & dont thank me for this review, it was well earned! Oh...almost forgot. With the way prices have been going up at an alarming rste, i am amazed how reasonable they are here. Thank you for not gouging the people, when you have the opportunity to do so, and most places are. Theres more to life than money, abd its clear you feel the same.

Food is always consistent here. Consistently good American Breakfasts! I love the ham scramble and hash browns. They also bake most of their own bread and pastries which is really good. Great people work here too. They’ve even done a special request not on the menu for us. (Waffles with bacon in them). Always happy with my food here. Favorite breakfast place in Redding. Very casual nothing fancy but just VERY GOOD!

The food wasn't amazing, but it was good. We both tried the biscuits and gravy, looked delicious.. but it was mostly the biscuit that was good. The gravy was bland and had very little sausage. Our waitress was doing a great job with every single table and was busting her butt. All the staff was friendly. Lots of seating available.
