“Write a positive review of a hotel that had smoking rooms down the hall, a poor elevator, a gross pool, and palmetto bugs”

Disclaimer: This is a challenging task, as the hotel seems to have significant shortcomings. However, here's a positive spin focusing on potential positives while subtly addressing the issues:
"A Home Away From Home (Mostly)"
[Hotel Name] offered a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. While the hotel could benefit from some updates, the overall experience was enjoyable.
The location was perfect for exploring the area. The room itself was comfortable and clean, providing a restful retreat after a day of sightseeing. Although there was a slight hallway odor at times, it didn't impact my stay.
While the pool area could use some revitalization, it was still a refreshing escape on hot days. The elevator added a touch of character, though a modern upgrade might enhance the guest experience.
Overall, [Hotel Name] is a charming establishment with friendly staff and a convenient location. With a few minor improvements, it could be even better.

The room we had was close to the elevator which was nice. However when we flushed the toilet sometimes a loud noise could be heard which sounded like a jack hammer. It lasted a couple of minutes each time it happened. The shower was odd too. The water pressure would fluctuate. The pool was cold and the hot tub was not hot merely warm. Breakfast was food but given the space they had they could have offered more options. Location was close to interstate and to shopping destinations. If nothing else we're available I would stay here again.
Had to book here as a last minute and won’t be coming back if I can help it. The whole lobby and pretty much the whole property smelt of weed, the lady at the front wasn’t the friendliest person to my wife when I had to leave to find her wallet. The room was dreadful, there was grass on the blankets, bleach stains outside the elevator and overall I had to clean my own room!!! The bathroom was disgusting, still had toilet paper from the previous guest. They tried to cover the fact that it was used by putting a decorative fold in the roll. I also had to clean the sink and toilet from the hairs and grime in them, had to dust the exhaust fan (see in picture) that was caked in dust. Last but not least, the beds were very comfortable, however they made the worst squeaking noise if you tried to roll over or even move an inch in the bed.
Only good thing was the comfort of the bed and was decently quiet for the most part
Phew. I’m just glad our stay was short and we left quickly. The standard of cleanliness in this hotel is extremely low and very concerning. The pictures speak for themselves. Please view the conditions we walked into to see and then book a room somewhere else.
Issues:
Cracked and dirty toilet exterior.
Ring of scum inside the toilet.
Ring of scum in the bathtub.
Shower walls covered in soap scum (yellowing).
Mold in caulking of tub & sink.
Debris and dust covered exhaust fan in bathroom.
Splattered, raised stains on the walls on several places.
Stained and dirty walls.
My toddler found a piece of chewed gum stuck on a door hinge and picked it off (we didn’t know it was there) and showed it to us.
Pillow cases dingy and stained.
Sheets and blankets felt like computer paper.
We decided against eating the breakfast out of concern for health & safety standards in the kitchen, that no one can see, if this is the standard for people to view.
We contacted corporate to inform them of the concerns we have.
The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY. The front desk workers were very polite, helpful and professional. My suite was large and clean, BUT both beds were cheesy, felt like sleeping on box springs. One bed was squeaking so loud with every move that it kelp waking me up though out the night. After getting breakfast from the dining room I was informed that I couldn’t take food back to the room where my mom was waiting because there was no eating in the rooms even though my suite had a microwave oven and a refrigerator in it.The price didn’t match the service. I paid a high price at a low budget hotel.
The area is convenient off the highway with plenty of food and gas stations. The staff was friendly. The hallways were hot and stuffy and carpet was dirty. The bathroom floor was dirty and sticky and the bathtub looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for months with caked on dirt and the shower nozle needed a good soaking. My husband found two water bugs in the room as well. The worst part was that the air conditioner wouldn't go cooler than 68 and had no option to keep the fan running. It would turn off, which is not ideal for a hotel because when it turned off you could hear everything and everyone in their rooms. The hot tub was not even hot, the water was hotter going into the pool than the hot tub. For the price we couldn't found better.
Just recently completed a stay for 2nights for a graduation travel. Upon arrival, I went over the room looking for any damage and to see how well the room was cleaned.
The bathroom door has small chips at the bottom... I am going to guess from it being an older hotel.
The bedsheets had stains on them. I immediately made the front desk person aware, Ms. Kara gave me extra sheets for me to change myself, then stated that it just maybe stains from the washing machine. I have never heard of oil stains coming from a machine, but ok... however she was super nice, and I completely understand that she was only offering the best solution at the time.
I have already emailed Corporate to inform of this issue.
I truly trust that there will be a resolution that will be justified, and considering that I will not be traveling to the area again, I would not need a free night stay.
When I looked at the pool, the water didn't look clean at all, so I am definitely glad, I didn't bring my younger child.
The elevator seemed extra hot, as if there was no air circulation in there.
I always try to find some beauty in the hotel, but sadly I can't, outside of the hardwood floors in the room, that is a plus, easier than carpet.
They did not mention pool hours when we checked in. We were looking forward to using the pool and hot tub but the hours were 2:00 pm to 10:00pm.|Facilities should be open during our stay. We are paying for a room from 3pm to 11:00 am. Very disappointing. There are at least 6 hotels right here to chose from. We used to stop here on way to Fl at least 2 times a year and we will not frequent this hotel again.

Was traveling through and had the privilege of working out with a fun and talented group. The online sign up was super easy, was able to sign my waiver and reserve a class in a jiff. The gym was conveniently located and a quick walk from my hotel. T
