Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Petersburg, VA - Hotel in Petersburg - 130 Wagner Rd, USA

Positive: Location, close to I95, friendly helpful person at front desk. She was courteous , helpful, and pleasant. Unfortunately her coworker (an older woman) was a complete crank. Negative: The pool was filthy. Algae everywhere, water was a vibrant emerald green. Not what anyone would swim in. I saw other guests peek into the pool area and walk away. When I checked out the next day a sign on the pool door said it was closed.

This hotel was the worst I’ve ever stayed at! My family stayed in a queen suite on our way home to Massachusetts from Florida. |We arrived at our room to find they provided no bedding for the sleeper sofa so I sent a message down to the desk asking for some. No response so I went down to ask, they gave us a sheet set and a blanket with large holes in it. |The room looked as if they tried to cover everything with paint and pieces of carpet. The bathroom door handle was rusty and glued on with caulking, it didn’t stay shut at all or lock. |The toilet handle was broken and the seat cover bolts were covered in rust and broken apart. The walls in the bathroom were clearly falling apart and painted over water damage. The bathroom floor grout was also painted white and coming off????|The shower was disgusting and rusted we didn’t dare to use it. |The carpet was loose and very gross with stains everywhere. |After going to bed AND LOCKING THE DOOR to our room someone entered our room!!|The latch on the door stopped it from opening all the way but it was opened enough for them to see inside and scare my son that was sleeping on the sofa. It would have had to be an employee with a key card. By the time we got up and checked they were gone and no one said anything to us. |In the morning we went down stairs to get a cup of coffee and our key cards wouldn’t work when we went back up. |We didn’t stay for the free breakfast and quickly got out of there. |Worst hotel stay ever. I booked based on the good reviews and photos but clearly was misled.

The room was cool, I'm not picky, but you can hear what's going on in the next room. Service was great, you ask for help or anything you need for the room you get it, awesome. Location is a little out of the way, and I never got caught in traffic. It's awesome.

Do not stay here. I stayed here recently with my family and we were horrified. Room 221 had a sticky rug and smells like cigarette smoke super bad, not to mention how horrific the shower looked. Room 209 had rough curtains but there was blood on it!! Added pics to show. The mattresses on the pull out couches in both our rooms had dark brownish stains on it too. Oh ya and there was something growing out of the wall in the bathroom, with the same awful shower with a missing drain plug and missing tiles. We had to wear our shoes inside at all times because of how bad the carpets were. People next to us, behind us, above us, must have been wrestling also because at 11pm they were RUNNING and yelling in the hallways. Super uneasy feeling here, and the pictures the hotel has on their website are NOTHING compared to what we saw. Also there was a roach by the pool that looked like it could feed a family. My family is currently trying to get a refund or partial refund because this was so bad!! My only good stars are for the amazing breakfast and good location if you are traveling quick. The staff was also very sweet, the front desk woman working from june 26-28th was a sweetheart.

Stayed here for a week and it wasn’t the best. Ants were in the drawers and I seen two roaches during my stay! Also I left an important device in the room and it couldn’t be found. I believe one of the workers stole my electronic. This place is way too expensive to be having these problems. Breakfast was nice, but the pool is oh so dirty. I wouldn’t even put my toes inside of it. I don’t recommend staying here since the workers are stealers.

We stayed at the Emporia location which is convenient on/off I95. We were very disappointed. The room seemed nice but the bathroom was jut horrible! The bathroom paint was peeling, it had obviously not been cleaned properly. There were large clumps of hair in the corners of the shower that were very noticeable. The bathroom doesn’t have a fan so after a shower it was all steamy. We noticed there was a notice that said the rooms were only cleaned 3 times a week. It is obvious that they rush through the cleaning. Upon check out I walked to the desk and another guest who was also checking out walked up to the desk right after me. This person had apparently talked to the front desk earlier regarding a complaint about their room. The staff member began helping this person even though they walked up after me. I waiting a few mins but the staff member just kept speaking to that guest and ignored me. I ended up just walking out. We will not be staying at this location again.

We found the room to be spacious and clean. Curtains weren't in the best shape. Had plenty of room for a table and chairs or a small sofa (which were really needed). Eating my take out dinner on the bed wasn't something I enjoyed. Breakfast was good. Nothing extravagant but quite tasty. Shout out to Brenda who, with a friendly smile and attitude to match, was working hard to keep the place clean.

Been in the hotel 2 weeks have had the door die twice so I can't get in my room second time it happend I was locked out of my room for hours and had to switch rooms because the ac broke and smoked out a room with in 2 weeks had 3 major issue with the rooms not to mention the small stuff shower handles not screwed in and falls out of the wall and the faucet nob to turn on the water also just falls off. Literal bare minimum mantaniace is done to maintain the facilities the first week the pool was down for "unknown reasons" the is staff members are nice atleast. The hotel itself is just in terrible condition and needs maintenance across the board
