We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room for a very reasonable price. There was a sitting room separate from the sleeping area, and it had a pullout couch with extra bedding in a drawer. The room was nice and clean. The pool area was empty when we went to enjoy the hot tub. The water was warm and relaxing, but the jets weren't very strong. Breakfast was great and included breads, eggs, meat, potatoes, fruits, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, etc... a bit more than I expected to see. I would absolutely stay here again.

We came into the city to welcome our new grandchild. I booked 2 rooms online after reading the good reviews on a cheaper hotel but hey it’s a super8 it can’t be that bad right? Oh boy let get started grab your tetanus shot and some penicillin because I’m pretty sure we’re all going to need it after we leave this place. Upon entering the rooms we were smacked in the face with a smell that I can only describe as a rotten meat foot combo, I’m still semi hopeful it’s an old place but hey the price right? As I sit on the bed discussing with the family if we could just go down and ask for a refund and go elsewhere. My non confrontational husband says no let’s stick is our we won’t be here much. As I gaze over at my terrified daughter I notice some brown smeared on the wall. My son says wow that’s poop I’m like yeah pretty sure that’s do do. I figured I’d hop on here and just hope to steer other half fatigued people from stopping here. If it was clean it would be a nice place but it’s so dirty we ended up at Walmart got some cleaning supplies at least the house keeper tomorrow won’t have to work super hard. Oh and no shower curtain oh also a bonus for the kiddos they have in room pets!! Roaches and not the fun kind.. Like really someone isn’t there a health department?

Hotel was average, staff was nice. My kids were playing with toys so I checked under the bed for any missing parts and found a vape that my children very well could have gotten ahold of, so that tells me the cleaning staff don’t clean under beds. Got home to find out the water is not complimentary and they will charge you $6 for one 1L of water. Got charged $12 when there was only one present. Even after calling to inquire about this I was still charged $6.

Stayed here one night when visiting family. This is a very nice place with friendly people running it. Glad they had an elevator. We had a suite. Two spacious rooms with a nice sized bathroom and one king sized bed. The room was clean and bed comfortable.||The pool area was clean and good sized. The hot tub was nice and hot. They had plenty of pool towels available. ||The outside grounds were very well kept. We will stay here again.

Positive: Front desk staff was good. Breafast Buffet was better than average. Negative: Needs a deep clean and rooms need to be painted and maintained better. Uncomfortable bed.

Checked in shortly before 3 p.m. and couldn’t get a room until 3:30 because our room wasn’t ready. Check-in time is 3. On the second day, the fire alarm went off and it took the West Des Moines Fire Department to shut it off. Meanwhile, it was 95 in the shade. A few minutes ago, we dropped something, went to look for it and there was a half-eaten cookie under the dresser. And a pill. And a lot of dust. They clean every three days and that could be part of the problem. On the plus side, it was easy to get to the events we attended. Will not return as staff seemed fairly indifferent to the problems.

Our first stay here, and it was quite nice. Close to interstate access, but very quiet. The restaurants nearby were also good. Between the nextdoor restaurant and the hotel breakfast, there were good gluten-free options for my spouse with Celiac Disease.

This hotel needs new room service. I checked in and had to switch rooms three times. The first room didn’t have air conditioning and there was trash everywhere. Second room had trash everywhere, including pills on the floor. To note, I have a young child and two dogs that could have got ahold of these pills. Third room had trash on floors, hair in sink and in the shower. I would’ve left to go to a new hotel but it’s 11pm and my daughter has been trying to sleep during all of this. Had to ask for clean sheets since the room is so dirty I don’t even know if the sheets on the bed are clean. Disgusting and I will never return nor recommend.
