We stayed at Cougar Ridge resort for 2 nights while visiting Capitol Reef NP and the surrounding area.|We were so impressed with the resort that we tried to extend our stay, but they were booked. Every|aspect of Cougar Ridge is CLASS - the setting, the design, the facilities, the materials, the|craftsmanship, the furnishings, the amenities, the landscaping, the staff! It's nightly rate was comparable|to other lodging options in the area, but it offered so much more. It is basically a guest-ranch, and could|easily command a higher price.||We stayed in one room of a 3-BR casita. It had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee-maker. These were|high-end appliances, not your normal "motel-cheapies"! The furnishings were high qualify, and the|craftsmanship of the stone and tile-work was superb. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to|use the pool, hot tub, or firepit in one of the pool-side cabanas, but they are amenities that were available|for guests. The reception staff - Susie and Jeri - was very friendly and provided exceptional service,|including arranging an off-road tour with a local guide. Both days, we got to talk with the owner (Gary),|when he stopped in the breakfast area for his morning coffee, while making his rounds of the property.|How often does one have that opportunity?||Cougar Ridge would be a great location for a family reunion or other large gathering. The existing|facilities are quite adequate for such an event, but Gary has plans to develop even more, including a|restaurant and additional conference facilities.
Being in the park has advantages with getting early starts and beating crowds. The lodge was new and nice but nothing special. Food is all in one separate building, decent enough, served in a cafeteria style only. We stayed 2 nights in West Yellowstone too and liked that better than the Canyon Lodge.
This hidden gem is remarkable! It has beautiful landscapes and the views from the ranch were incredible. We had a bungalow for the weekend that came with all the amenities. Pool area, sauna, hot tubs, and gym are included as well as outdoor firepits to hang out and meet other guests. Laundry facilities are also available on-site. There is a small store where breakfast is available. Breakfast isn't donuts! There are many options for healthy eaters. Highly recommend planning a stay. I'll be back!
Everything about our stay on the ranch in the Casita was wonderful and far exceeded our expectations! Pictures don’t do this place justice! We truly appreciated the quiet, calm beauty of the property, sitting in the balcony watching the lightening storm, sunrise, the fantastic pool, sauna, steam room and cabana’s! Excellent selection of healthy, organic grab to go breakfast items and quiches!
This family owned resort and ranch is perfection. Our casita was large, beautifully furnished and welcoming. Their staff made our check-in easy and we've enjoyed every minute of our stay. I'm writing this review sitting on our porch looking at the fields, red canyons and mountains beyond. The quiet is amazing and the stars in this Dark Sky area just glow. This morning we saw the horses, goats and their longhorn cattle, checked out the beautiful lodge which even has a bowling alley and pool table, then walked over to the pool, spa and gym. My dogs can run free in the fields and our hikes have been amazing. Tomorrow, we are off to Capitol Reef National Park, then onto Bryce Canyon.
We stayed Friday-Sunday at Casita #8 with the Double Queen; the experience was life changing. Each morning we used the CrossFit box, wet sauna, and pool, followed by enjoying hikes, views, and restaurants recommended by the Staff! The owners and on-site staff are the nicest people you will come across- Susie in the office went over and above with any questions we had and is absolutely wonderful. Jake the General Manager is doing an incredible job executing the owners' vision for this slice of heaven, Allie was so kind to tell us about the history of the land and what it means to her family, and Sam is the most knowledgeable Tour Guide you will find in the area. We honestly cannot say enough good things about everyone involved at the Cougar Ridge; it's a community you want to be a part of. Not to mention the views at night will take your breath away thanks to the county being in a Dark Sky location. They offer a delicious breakfast, and beautiful walks on the Ridge where you can meet horses, goats, long horns, and more. This weekend's stay is the beginning of many returns, take our advice and book NOW. You'll thank us when you melt into their luxury sheets, and peacefully wake up to a view you can't get anywhere else. Thank you, Cougar Ridge!
A three night stay here was great. The location is close to Capital Reef. The Villa felt high-quality with attention to detail, comfortable, and a place you wanted to spend time in. The staff were friendly, the breakfast area was well-stocked. The place will only be better after their expansion is complete. There are goats, donkeys, and other animals around. There are four L2 EV chargers for guests to use.
This place has been designed tastefully. I would recommend staying here if visiting Capital Reef NP. Everything is so laid back and peaceful. CR caters to all age groups. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable. Breakfast and coffee options are great.
OMG DISSAPOINTED!!!!! Disappointed that It took me this long to try their food. It's incredibly delicious. THE BEST Mexican food I've ever tasted so far. If you are in the Capitol Reef area, you have got to come to this place. Great food, their dri
Very cool schoolhouse. Outside of the park. We listened to a recording at the blacksmith shop who talked about the Fruita children attending a one room school house. When we left the park we drove back to the school house assume listened to its recor
The pizza was very good! Sloppy Joe was not anything ordinary. We would skip it if you're thinking about getting it. The meat ball sub was very good! There is seats inside or outside. Beers are available and music. It is family friendly.
This place was absolutely perfect for me. The room was clean and nicely decorated. I thought the curtains to close off bathroom area is a classy touch. The hot tub was fabulous, the gym looked nice although I didnât find time to use it. The ONLY is
The hospitality was amazing. We got in the doors thirty minutes before closing and they welcomed us in happily. We were traveling a long time and were starving and were happy to get a warm meal. The server was super friendly. The food options were ta
Several friends and I stayed at this hotel with a yoga group last weekend and can't say enough good things about our stay. The staff were amazing (especially Dakota). The hotel and rooms are clean and well maintained. We were very comfortable and
We stayed here during the off season to visit the park. This was an easy place to drive back and forth from. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. There was not a lot for food options being off-season but we had a microwave and refrigerator in
