Cottonwood Trail in South Carolina - Park in Spartanburg - Cottonwood Trail, USA

A very nice place to walk with many, many trails. We took the wetlands loop, then over the bridge to the picnic area. There is a large sculpture at one trailhead, many flowers are in bloom, the Cottonwoods are big and shaded the trails nicely. Pleasant way to spend the morning, walking, running or biking. (Some trails have tree roots high enough that biking may be difficult……choose wisely !!). And, of course… if you get lost, ask Barbie for help !!! 😂🤣

Nice, well-worn path through the woods. A creek runs through the path, and there are a few bridges to walk over, picnic tables and benches for resting. Lots of beautiful plants; we even saw a pawpaw tree with fruit on it.

Beautiful nature preserve. Large enough to keep you interested for a couple of hours of hiking. Alternating between wooded and open areas. Most of the trails have sand , some are a bit muddy. Some parts of the trail have beautiful bridges/paved like in the photos. Quiet, not crowded

Found this trail 6/11/20 and had a great time. Trail rides along side a stream, Mostly dirt some sandy spots. Then you have about a half mile of paved trail. Over all this is a very nice trail.. Be mindful of the wild life. we seen deer and a snake.

The Cottonwood Trail is one of the best in South Carolina. It is somewhat of a spillway for stormwater and that causes some issues of pollution. The wetlands are a real up-and-coming tourist attraction. The biodiversity needs to thrive and many of the fallen trees need to be cleaned up

The trail system is interesting alongside the river here. Plenty of nature and wildlife to satisfy. The wetlands area is great for bird watchers and there is a nice picnic area down the trail and across the bridge.

Great, easy walking for entire family. Our family enjoyed trekking through the marsh land trail as well as a trail that followed the stream. SPACE does a great job maintaining these trails. Our children are learning to enjoy being out in God's creation and this was a great place to reinforce that. Our 4 year old was almost able to walk the entirety of all the trails. Great family day, especially if you have younger children.

It's a really pretty place with a couple different trails to go on, it could use some upkeep though. I'm guessing with all the rain we've gotten its washed out some of the trails making big holes and such, it's still really easy to go over on foot not as easy on a bike or with a stroller
