Some negotiations about room rate, was told it was a king suite, when we checked in we learned they only have queen beds. Also said there was breakfast, which was not true. No blow dryer available, very rustic, probably fine for fisherman. Right next to the river and the train tracks which was a loud surprise in the morning! There is a great diner right in front of the building where you can buy breakfast.

Very cool place to stay right on White River. It's also as soon as you come of the bridge into Cotter. So easy to find. It's an old school Motel but they restored it all and it's cool! They have a restaurant on the grounds that serves breakfast and lunch. We will be trying it out in the morning so stay posted. They also have a Fly Shop across the street. We will be visiting it in the morning as well and will be reviewing it.

We spent 2 days in Cotter and enjoyed every minute ! The rooms were clean, comfortable and most of all pet friendly. Everyone we met at the Lodge, the Orvis Fly Shop and the restaurant was happy to answer any questions and even share their favorite fishing spots. Our fishing guide Shawn was the best ! His knowledge of the White River along with his patience made our morning on the river perfect.

Rooms are set up strange. Our mirror wasn't over the sink. Very dark, so impossible to apply makeup. Fridge froze all the food. Clean though and quaint. Nice location and great customer service.

One of the best places I've ever stayed, honestly! The space is beautiful (and HUGE) and the room we were in, a king-bed on the river side of the hotel, had a fridge, microwave, dining table, and one of the most comfortable recliners I've ever sat in. Lots of storage for coats and shoes, plenty of space to spread out, a beautiful bathroom, and very quiet. Even better, it was steps away from the fire pit and the trailhead for the trail that runs under the railroad trellis and along the river. I grew up in Cotter and this is a FAR CRY from how the space used to be! Plus, they let us bring our dog - not a small dog either! - and he felt so welcome too. But even more impressive than the space was the service. From booking to driving up and getting a call from the office about when we'd be there to checking in at the (adorable) fly shop, to getting a late check-out, to the firestarters left outside our door when I mentioned I wanted to maybe do a fire, Faith was so helpful and kind and just...the whole vibe was good. I don't think we'll stay any place else when we visit family in the future. As a bonus, the White Sands restaurant has one of the best diner breakfasts around, and certainly the best in the area.

The room smelled like mildew and was very muggy. When the toilet flushed the tub filled with sewage including toilet paper. And this happened in multiple rooms. It was overall an unpleasant experience and we will never stay there again. The staff argued about the smell, offered a small discount, and then charged the full price.

Spent a week here fishing and enjoying the Arkansas scenery. All were fabulous. We stayed in the apartment. Rooms were clean and the location put us in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Staff was friendly and helpful.

In consideration of the primary fact that this is a fisherman/fisherwoman's venue it has a wonderful ambiance fitting it's primary purpose . . . providing lodging close to the action! Rustic, clean, quiet surroundings are what you can expect here . . . Oh, and a couple of very friendly cats!
