For the nightly price of the Mountain Cabin, I feel like it needs a deep cleaning to get rid of the spiderwebs, overhead and underneath beds. Outlets are sketchy. Twin beds upstairs are too small for adults in length. Bathroom towels were plentiful along with the coffee packets though. Kitchen is stocked as far as appliances and dishes/cutlery. Bring your own spices and such. Bed was super comfortable. Otherwise it's a perfect little cabin to stay at. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

The location sits 1.5 south of the ski hill. The cabin is cute but could probably use a little love. No AC in the unit and windows were pretty difficult to open to let air in. I was in unit D and do not recommend if you want peace and quiet (you can hear everything!). Upon bringing this to management’s attention they kindly relocated me to unit C pictured above at no additional cost. A+ for customer service! They have plenty of fans in the room and the kitchen is perfect for making your own meals. All in all the stay is great for the cost but please get those windows replaced!

The staff at Cottam's is AMAZING!! They are so kind and helpful and will work with you to resolve any issues you might have. We have stayed at the main property in the ski valley before, and this time we stayed at the sister property down the road. At both locations, the rooms are very clean and cute. My son and I love the adorable family of bears that are featured in art work and decor around both properties. The jacuzzi and sauna at the main property are very clean and cute. The suites with kitchens are well stocked and very clean. My only complaints are that the rooms are HOT in the summer, and since you have to leave the windows open, the traffic noise at the sister property is really loud, starting at about 6am. We stayed in Studio B, and there are only 2 small windows, so no cross breeze, and the door doesn't have a screen, so you can't even leave that open as there are tons of black flies. There are fans in the room, but with the abnormal heat that keeps rising, I think either an air conditioning unit or a swamp cooler unit should be installed. If that is not possible, a screen on the door, along with a white noise machine and some ear plugs for the traffic noise would help a lot. Other than that, we were so happy with our stay and will definitely be back!

Great location if you wanna stay close but not actually at the resort. You will def save a few $$ with this option. 1.5 miles away. So it’s 5 min max to the slopes vs 30-45 from Taos. Super simple check in/out process. You do need to go to the Alpine lodge at the resort to check in but it’s easy and you can park out front. The room was suite A, upstairs. Plenty of parking. The room was clean and always warm and cozy. It has a humidifier which is awesome to have above 8000ft elevation. Small fridge, a stove, coffee maker (bring your own if you want more than just hotel room coffee), dishes, pretty much anything you may need if you want to eat in. Clean bathroom and shower. Soft cushy towels and most importanly, a comfy queen bed. You also have use of the sauna and hot tub at the lodge itself as well. Did not use this last time as we were pretty beat after skiing all day, but it’s there if you wanna use it. I’ve stayed at the Lodge at the base a few times in the past and I’ve always been very happy. All in all I would highly recommend staying here. At the Alpine lodge at the resort or at Cottams lodge down the road. Oh and the skiing at Taos is way underrated. IMHO it’s one of the best ski areas in the country. Steep!!

The view was great from the front porch. The kitchen was decently stocked with pots, skillets, utensils, knives, and plates/bowls/cups for simple meals. We cooked most of our meals and brought the dry goods from home and stopped in Taos to get the cold stuff. The village has markets but Taos has better a better selection at better prices. We brought our own things for making special items like baking a birthday cake. The oven temperature was calibrated and the cake came out great. We didn't use the grill but one was available on the porch. It rained daily while we were there so the chair cushions on the porch were always wet we had brought our own folding chairs so didn't matter. We could have taken the cushions off and used the chairs there. The porch view was awesome. We used the space heater in the bathroom most mornings but otherwise just opened and closed the windows to control the temperature inside the cabin. Window screens would be a good addition to cut down on the bugs getting in. We used the hot tub at the Alpine Village Suites after a day of hiking so that was nice.

Hard to understand check in process at top of bill, then drive down to room. Room had no shampoo, TV didn’t work, no outlet near the coffee pot; fire extinguisher missing. I believe we should be credited some back. We asked ahead of time if there was easy access to room. Turned out that our room required climbing stairs so they switched us to a much smaller room but didn’t adjust the price? Really nice folks at front desk. Just really hard to understand on the phone.

Absolutely loved our stay! This place is paradise. We drove from san Antonio TX. It was our second time coming, and we can't wait to go again next year.

Cottam's Lodge is 1-1/2 miles down the top of the mountain from the check in location. When we drove back down the mile and a half and pulled into the lodge parking lot, we noticed the door to our suite was wide open. When we went in, we found out why. The overwhelming smell from the cleaner that was used was horrendous. The housekeeper must have left the door and windows open to air it out. It did not work. Ironically, all of the soaps and lotions in the bathroom were environmentally friendly....not the cleaner. Instant headache. We had to go down to Taos for a performance and when we came back up it was about 11:00 p.m. That's when we noticed that the smoke alarm in the unit below us was beeping...incessantly. The mountain had no cell service so I couldn't call anyone to fix the problem. The next morning when I went to check out, there was no one at the desk. There was a note that said, "will be back, call for assistance." Kind of hard to call for assistance when there's no cell service! I waited around, then left and came back. The second time STILL no one there. I had to walk around to find someone. All in all -- the suite had the potential to be lovely. Instead I ended up with a raging headache from the overuse of cleaner and no sleep from a faulty smoke alarm. For the amount of money spent, I recommend visitors try somewhere else.

This location is wonderful for a ski trip in Taos and within walking distance to lift 1. It’s close enough to even come back to the room for lunch and the rooms have a kitchenette. The room had luxurious towels and the woman working the front
