we just woke up and decided to go for a little nature walk on a Saturday. this park offered an easy trail to follow, making a loop back to the parking lot. we saw some interesting film and television shoot locations from the 40s and 50s. most of the placards have faded along the trail, but the ones I could read were informative and interesting. we did see cotton tail, squirrels, and lizards on this walk. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone who wants to have a nice easy walk on a trail without a lot of elevation changes.

There is a lot to see here. Best location to do some research on the history of this spot from the sand you stand on and the movie of the Wild West to Robin Hood short films. And when it used be a big gold mining. Any whooo ita still a great place to walk around.

Such a hidden gem in Simi! Free easy parking, tons of hiking trails, and it's gorgeous all year. My favorite place to take my clients for photos! In Spring if there's rain there's gorgeous mustard flowers and sometimes poppies. In Summer even the dried foliage is really beautiful, and all year there's the incredible rock formations and ruins of movie sets. My Photos:

Such a great hike! you can make it as easy or difficult as you want. Plenty of options to go flat or up the hills. Check out the original Sherwood Forest and many other movie sites noted by the Boy Scout trail signs. There are also nature trail signs letting you know about the riparian life. It’s beautiful all year, shady spots for in the summer and sunny spots for the chilly days. Great picnic areas. There are very clean Porta potty‘s at the base of the big hill and a water spigot and bowl for dogs. There are several spaces that have rock mazes and also an amphitheater area with another water spigot. Go and have fun investigating!

I've lived within 15min of this park for 50yrs and only this year leaned about it. It is a beautiful place to visit and walk/hike/bike. It was originally part of the Bob Hope ranch and used to film many movies of the 40s and 50s. You can walk the level and mostly flat trails, spend some time reading the historical signs explaining the significance of the area and enjoy the tranquility of it all. The parking lot is dirt but don't let that deter you, it is worth the dust!

Lots of nice trails. If you're a Hollywood history buff there's a lot to see. Wear comfortable footwear. Bring ample water.

This is a fun family experience. We went to see the poppies that have blossomed this spring following a rainy California winter. We traveled to the Antelope Valley last year to see the poppies, but this is much closer. Nature is beautiful here, and there's movie history to see here, too. There are several easy walking trails that are stroller-friendly. The poppies are at the end of the main trail that leads out of the parking lot, on the side of a hill adjacent to the east-bound 118 Ronald Reagan Freeway. We took snacks and rested at a picnic table. There are many beautiful and shady oak trees around.

Very beautiful park, with great and very famous history in this area. Worth to go, In the past, many movies have been performed in this park, especially with cowboys. Wherever you go there are tables to show the movies made there. Very suitable place for strolling.
