Coratel Inn & Suites by Jasper Hastings - Hotel in Hastings - 2450 Vermillion St, USA

First: you get what you pay for, and I knew that going in. But in looking for a budget motel option, I would not come here again. The positives: staff was helpful and speedy with check-in and check-out. Decent location not too far from good restaurant options. Bed was comfortable enough, though the pillows were oddly small. The negatives: the rooms are outdated and unclean. In the bathroom, the tub drain was broken with pieces of the drain mechanism laying in the tub. There was long hair on the towels that I had to pick off. The toilet seat didn't stand up, so I had to hold it. The toilet rain all night, and later the chain broke and I had to go fishing in the tank to fix it. The AC unit in the main room was affixed to the wall with duct tape. Also, don't expect good breakfast options--I went to the local Caribou for that. Vending machine was almost completely empty. I came back late in the evening after an event to find the back parking lot absolutely full with people just walking around and loitering. They were super loud. Later, they were slamming doors and talking and singing at full volume. The walls are very thin, and I definitely put the chain on the door to feel a little safer.

The only positive was the nice room service gals that woke us up. There was bugs (I have a video can’t post it on here but imagine 20-30 little bugs all over the sink toilet and climbing in and out of the ceiling fan that was falling out of the ceiling), staining on the walls and ceilings, mystery liquids all over the floor, holes in the walls, sketchy parking lots with trash everywhere. The other reviews had me scared about bed bugs which did not settle my fears I found that the beds had staining and crunchy parts all over. I think the worst part was having the door that would not lock- the slide lock was destroyed, asked for a smoke free room- definitely not found a smoke tray and ash everywhere. Go somewhere else.

We stayed for five days the front desk was very helpful; housekeeping not so much. I would return though. Microwave and fridge in room. No coffee machine. No pool.

The name is different, it’s Asteria NOT Coratel. Very dirty place. Not as pictures describe. Room had a used q tip hair in the shower and it smelled really bad. There were bugs or ants on the floor. I attach some pictures. POSITIVE: shout out to the staff in the front, apologized for everything and got me in contact with the manager and they ended up giving me a full refund. Ended up staying in a more expensive hotel in St Paul, but worth it.

We read some of the reviews on this place before we came here and we're expecting the worst but very pleasant other than in a smoke room where you could smell the smoke. A little bit beds were comfortable overall very nice. I would recommend staying here and I would stay here again if we could

This hotel should be shut down! Why is hastings allowing such sketchy weird thing on this town. This hotel is disgusting. The beds are dirty the chairs in the room have white stains and dark stains on them!! The doors are not safe locked! People sleeping in their cars in the parking lot! The owner is very disrespectful. Never stay here!!

Every negative review of this place is absolutely correct. And pretty sure any positive reviews are fake,written by the owners. Staff is incredibly unhelpful and rude. Avoid this dump at all cost.

Absolutely disgusting. I checked in despite the front of the hotel looking very different than posted online and now hosting a very messy RV park out front. While advertised that you need keys to enter all the doors were open or not locked even in the back of the hotel. I entered my room to find it nothing like the description or pictures. It was old, dusty, dirty and the room didn’t even have the ability for me to lock it. There was visible layers of dust on the side tables except a spot where I’m sure the last person had left something sit. Feeling uncomfortable in my surroundings I went to the front desk asking for a refund as I was not comfortable staying. I told him the room was not at all what is described and I wasn’t comfortable staying there. He shared that I’d have to call the place I’d book through for a refund but that he’d cancel my reservation. After leaving and driving 30 mins out of the way to another hotel I called the place I had booked the disgusting room through. The customer service rep was wonderful and helpful but when he called the hotel to get the front desk employee to agree to a refund the request was denied because he felt the reason I left was different than I told him. This is ridiculous! I did give the third party booking rep more info but you’d think feeling uncomfortable and having a completely different room with no lock would have been a good enough reason. This is unacceptable. Don’t stay here. It’s gross and the staff is not at all helpful.
