After reading reviews I wasn’t excited to eat here. However, the food was all amazing! So glad we decided to try it. Fried green tomatoes were probably my favorite - order them with the spicy crab on top. Service was quick and atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The fried green tomatoes with spicy crab was the one of the only decent menu items we ordered. The crawfish Mac and cheese had good flavor but everything else we ordered was abysmal. Too much variety on the menu made individual entrees mediocre. I assume they expect their customers to have already had a few drinks so they don’t notice how bad their food tastes.
Excellent drinks! The Headhunter was fruity and delicious. The Coconut Lavender Lemonade was creamy and fantastic. Fried green tomatoes (with crab) were tasty, though the breading was a bit thicker than what we like. The chicken fried steak was epically delicious and the pasta Orleans had the right amount of spice, though the sauce could have been just a tad thicker. Definitely recommend!
I was in town for a business trip and a coworker told me about this place. Boy oh boy am I glad that I stopped here. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful since I've never been there. I don't think they ever stop smiling while they work.
The food was delicious!!! When I left I was completely full. I should have gotten a to-go box but I couldn't stop eating the amazing sandwich and fries. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in that area!
This is a cool new place. We had fried pickles, a burger, & a TBA. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! Our server was great. Everything was perfect. Make sure you get the bread pudding!
I know the reviews are great. And every time I have eaten there in the past it’s been amazing. But last night the food was very, very off. It had very little flavor and just seemed to be sloppy. The shrimp and grits that have always been wonderful had no flavor at all. I hope this was just a one time occurrence because it has always been great in the past.
Went in with group of friends and everyone really enjoyed the food and drinks. I had the catfish basket. It was a lot more food than I was expecting. Catfish was seasoned and cooked excellently. Fries were fresh and crispy. Our server was friendly and checked on us often. Was an all around great experience. Would recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
Update: we still go all the time and it's always good! I'm so glad Benton has a place with Cajun style food. Everything we got was good, but try the crawfish Mac and cheese! Absolutely delicious. The fried shrimp is some of the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back and try more things.
2nd Update regarding their brunch menu. Skip the chicken and waffles. It's just 3 pitiful chicken strips on 2 cold waffles. Waste of time and $. Stick to the real menu.
