Nice gem in the panhandle of Texas. Made a trip out to hike a few trails and the park is great. Plenty of trail options to choose from with various distances and difficulty to suit your needs. The geology and land formation is definitely unique. The park is declared a National "Dark Park" meaning the light pollution is extremely low and you are able to get glimpses of the Milky Way without using a telescope, I haven't experienced this just yet, but planning to toncheck it out when the temperatures are more comfortable. Definitely worth the $3 admission to the park.

A hidden gem in the Texas State Park System. One of the best Dark Night Skies parks in the state. Its also has a unique geological feature that I only found inside this particular park. You can see remnants of an ancient sea floor on one of the trails. You get to stand where an ocean once stood. If you love science and history, then this is the park for you. Can you say you visited Copper Breaks without kissing an official Texas Longhorn? I’ll let the staff explain that one! Check out the video we did on this park at Mr. S Travel Quest YouTube channel.

Great for star watching. Sat for three hours enjoying the beauty of the stars. Saw a shooting star! In Dallas very few stars are visible due to pollution. We also celebrated Renny's birthday. What a wonderful way he picked to celebrate!

2 nights in November was all around perfect! Got to experience a dazzling star filled sky and fed the longhorns with Ranger Stewart along with a group of other campers!

Amazing state park that seems to be a hidden gem. I'm surprised this isn't a more popular park. While it doesn't offer more than about 15 miles or so of trails, the trails here are amazing and family friendly. There are 2 trails, Juniper Ridge and Rocky Ledges, that might be difficult for little ones. As far as for RV's, all sites at the Comanche Camping area are electric and water only. The dump station is near by. Showers are available and the restrooms seem to be clean enough. Will definitely go again.

Copper Breaks is a gem hidden within the Texas Panhandle. The park is clean and we'll maintained and the staff is top notch. There are activities and play areas for the family as well as fishing and swimming. Equestrians are welcome and trails are clearly marked and fun for all ages. There are plenty of camping sites too. RV sites are limited. Restrooms are clean and also well cared for. There is a small museum to help educate and entertain and even a small herd of Texas Longhorn they allow you to feed and interact with. Quannah is just a few miles away if you've forgotten anything but the office sells ice and a few items as well. The staff is amazing and friendly and are always willing to help. Copper Breaks is on the Dark Sky Registry so the night views on a clear night are out of this world (literally) They offer night tours of the sky and even have a designated trail for the best views of the Milky Way. Bring your telescope if you can. This is a park and experience you will never forget.

Beautiful scenery just wish the drought was so prominent, most water sources are dry at the moment. Phenomenal sunsets, quiet surroundings, park staff was super friendly and can't wait to come again 💚

This is another beautiful state park that seems to be a bit unknown. Unfortunately the lake was so far down that the boat ramp and piers were far from any water. The museum is closed for renovation and the gift shop is very limited but worth a stop. This area is beautiful and has various elevation. My husband thoroughly enjoyed biking on the trails. I took our dog and drove all around the park. We stopped and did a little hiking as well. We were only able to stay 1 night and it stormed most of the night until around 8am the next morning so we didn't get to see any stars. There is an old school playgound with monkey bars and a metal slide. We enjoyed the unique picnic table covers in the Comanche campground. This is a beautiful and peaceful place.
