We really enjoyed this beautiful state park. The views are great, the park is very picturesque and we got to feed and meet the longhorns. The park rangers and the museum in the headquarters was very informative and cool. We just had such an amazing day in the great outdoors!
The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Well maintained park. Nice trails. I have been twice now. Since it’s a dark sky park. I’ll be back.
It's a good place. Timing is critical. Don't come here in summer. When I went it was 111°F
Although, I was able to capture the Milky way.
The Star walk was cancelled due to clouds. Wood and coal fire were prohibited because of the hot climate.
I absolutely loved this state park. The topography was so different than most of Texas. It was nice to see a change in color. It is dog friendly, hiking friendly, camping friendly, and just all around fantastic! I was very impressed with my visit! I reccomend this state park!
Visited this State Park from Nov 16th-Nov 20th for a training course, the Park Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the park and history, park grounds were well maintained and clean, hiking and biking trails were awesome, and the facilities were clean and very nice as well. This park is a great place to do night photography as it is an International Dark Sky Park, so you will be able to have some awesome night time viewing of the stars.
Plenty of different activities to do here from camping, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and more. I was even able to check out the official Texas longhorn herd and learn about their history while at the park.
If you are in the Quanah area and looking for a great place to visit, I would highly recommend Copper Breaks State Park to anyone.
Very large spots. Swimming and fishing. Great place to hike. Clean bathrooms. The service is great and camp host is awesome.
This is a beautiful weather Texas park! Red soil everywhere and plenty of hiking paths. Fishing wasn't great in June but fun none the less.
Had a wonderful experience camping at Copper Breaks. Park employees were helpful and courteous, the park is beautiful and well kept. One of the best things about this park is that it is an International Dark-sky Association certified park where there is nearly zero light pollution, which means I could see the stars clearer and brighter than I ever have before. Being a photographer, I took lots of pictures of the night sky. Here is one of my favorites of the Milky Way and Jupiter right over our tent.

Nice gem in the panhandle of Texas. Made a trip out to hike a few trails and the park is great. Plenty of trail options to choose from with various distances and difficulty to suit your needs. The geology and land formation is definitely unique. The
