Coopersville & Marne Railway - Tourist attraction in Coopersville - 306 Main St, USA

Quick stop in Coopersville on the way to our destination. Nice town with a unique downtown. Marne Railway and the old trains were a pleasure to stop and see. Well worth the side quest 🙂

Beautiful railroad. We attended the murder mystery ride and really enjoyed it! Lots of laughs and fun story line as we cruised along the tracks from coopersville to marne. Highly recommended!

What a great time!! We sat in the caboose where the kids got to sit up top. The chairs were SO comfortable and it was nice having the table to sit at. The train rolled at 10 mph so a nice speed to take in the scenery. We took the October themed pumpkin train where the kids had on costumes, apple cider and donuts were on our caboose and two girls dressed as a pumpkin and a crow came in and performed a few songs for us. They were really good and the kids really liked it. The kids also got to pick a pumpkin when they got off the train. Not to mention the fantastic eateries right around the corner, pizza, donuts and an ice cream shop. Nice fall day, we will be back next year!!

Booked a cab ride for about $70. Was enjoying the view sitting at the station until two guys came in and one just told me “I had to get off the seat since he had to sit there” and I was left with either to sit on the seat that was too low to see or just stand the entire ride. Really wasn’t in the friendliest way either. It was sort of a fun ride but paying how much I did, I feel I at least should’ve had the leisure of sitting and watching everything

The train itself was cool! Loved the old school lights in car 1. Was expecting the train to be decorated for Halloween. The ladies who sang were wonderful. Added a nice touch. No one checked our tickets. It would have been cool if the pumpkin s had been in a hay setting. My 3vyear old grandson loved it and that's all that mattered. If it would take donations to decorate the train for the holidays, I would be willing to do that. Thank you to the volunteers. You rock!

My husband and I booked the pumpkin train for our anniversary. The table seats were a bit cramped so if you want more room I'd recommend a booth. We sat in train car #5. We enjoyed a pumpkin doughnut and a cup of apple cider on the way to Marne. My 9yr old loved the singing and dancing of the pumpkin, scarecrow and the crow. She enjoyed the songs. Her only complaint was they didn't have more songs 😂. All in all we enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something out of the ordinary and fun for the kiddos. The ride in total was 90 minutes long.

Positives: -The train was beautiful -The booth seats in the premium were comfortable -Hot cocao and cookies were great -Santa visited and gave small gifts -The story of polar express was read -The time it took for the whole trip was neither to short or to long - Most everyone working the train were very nice and helpful Negatives: -Its not scenic -spent 15 minutes outside and another 30 in the seats waiting (they ask for you to be 30 minutes early) -A lady working told the grandparents to move to different seats away from us to fit a family of 5 that reserved last minute so they could sit together. When I tried to explain to her that I reserved those seats and that the grandparents were with us, she wouldn't even look me in the eye and said "this is what the seating is going to be" and walked away. Luckily someone else working overheard and came by and asked me what the problem was and helped sort it out and the family of 5 was more then willing to shuffle around so we each got to sit with our own families. I understand they had some changes they needed to do this week, but that was not an excuse to be rude. I had the email about the changes and the new seating arrangements, and my seats I reserved did not change. I very much appreciated the employee that was willing to help us sort it out instead of walking away.

The train was beautiful and my granddaughters had a great time with the characters who came through to sing and tell jokes. A bit underwhelming, overall, with a lack of engagement. Would have been nice to have music or commentary about the train or the town, etc. The side of the train with the large windows was on the highway side, so it wasn't as scenic as we hoped. The newspaper with information on the organization was a cute touch and done well. Definitely geared toward ages 2-8ish. We were there as a family, so 5 adults and 2 kids under 5, and probably should have chosen a different activity to spend $300 on. The girls loved it, especially the 5yo, so it was an enjoyable time.
