I've been visiting this park for many years and it still has its older welcoming trees, great play equipment for the kids, newer restrooms, located next to Silver Creek, it has a walkbridge across the creek taking you to the library and Historical Society. It's one of my favorite city parks. It is located in Silverton, Oregon.
Beautiful place to take a short walk and experience nature any time of year and any type of weather. Nice family park that still doesn’t seem to discriminate on dog breeds.😁 been coming around here since I was a kid, and imagine I’ll still be around in another 40 years. Simply love it!
The quintessential small-town city park. Thick with evergreens, much playground equipment, wide shady grassy spaces, picnic tables. This park is a deep green space of rest. This was Silverton's original city park, and the names on the park are two of Silverton's early founding families. The history is palpable; the stone gate is a treasure to behold. At the back of the park a trail proceeds down the west bank of Silver Creek, and a footbridge leads across the creek to the city pool and a park stretch that leads to the public library and historical museum. The creek itself has a very old and small concrete dam that creates an old swimming hole on the creek, and a short concrete walk along the side.
My husband and I just came here for the first time the other day and the girls had so much fun. They are two and three and they absolutely loved it. The park is so neat. It will definitely be back again!
We stopped here for a little break to stretch our legs on a recent road trip. What a cool neighborhood park! We parked at the city pool, followed a paved path to a bridge across the river, and found this great park. The play structures were great for younger and older kids. Benches, covered and open picnic areas, lots of trees, shade and clean restrooms. There is a great swimming area near the bridge, too.
Took my offspring and headed down the trail and all around. It was so clean here. No trash strewn about and it was well maintained So beautiful. Had a great time.
Recently moved to Silverton and went to check out this park. Small park, but nice. Found a short trail along the creek and enjoyed the fall colors.
Love this park! A few trails here and there, play structures and swings for kids, some covered areas to have BBQ's and whatnot. Has public bathrooms. Love the shade from all the old growth!!! All the orange, plastic construction fencing is temporarily blocking areas that were damaged by the 2021 freeze, I would imagine.
