We were seated quickly by a very friendly staff member.
I got the margarita and it was lovely. Well balanced, with a salt rim that wasn't too heavy.
We got a tamale first and that's when I knew we were in for a treat, the masa was so smooth, the chicken soft and the sauce was incredible.
This was one of those silent table kind of meals. We were too busy eating for conversation!
Next we got the mole negro, which we got with chicken, and oh God. It fell off the bone, the sauce was incredible, warm and comforting and complex with a sweet heat that built up to be perfect. I could eat this all day!
Overall, this place has fantastic shareable portions of amazing Mexican food in an adorable little restaurant.
Delicious! Really yummy plates. As other comments say, the price is typical for the Belmont area. I recommend the sangria with tequila
Great service and great atmosphere. Food was lacking though so I left a little disappointed. Ceviche was excellent but the chicken mole bland without any redeeming qualities. Probably would not return for that reason and the price.
Conmole does almost everything exactly right. The service is fast and informative, but unobtrusive. The food is faithful to tradition while elevating through tiny tweaks. The portions are small, but they warn you about that. The two of us shared ceviche, a tamale, and the mole ribs. Finishing with tres leches made it a perfect, satisfying meal. We will definitely be back, despite living 90 miles away! ;)
Oh, and if you’re wondering what is not exactly right, it’s the design of the bathroom. The toilet is visible from a seated table when the door is open. That bothers me as a builder, but it’s hardly a reflection on the food.
Wow - possibly the best Mexican we’ve had outside of Mexico. We were so surprised and happy with the food! I wish we had room to try more dishes - as everything we ate was delicious. Great vegetarian and pescatarian options. Yum!
High quality food with strong flavors. Dishes are meant to be shared. Most of them could have come with more rice or tortillas given how much sauce there was. Really enjoyed everything we got. Loved the carnitas.
Very good "true" Mexican joint in Belmont. Get some empanadas! The classic margaritas are fantastic as well. This being said it's def closer to $50/head, the review score here must be out of date (we spent even more than that, but we did get a few rounds)
Great atmosphere, friendly weight staff, great location in historic Belmont, appetizers and drinks were great (ceviche was a stand out) but entrees were a bit on the bland side - it may just be a flavor profile that isn’t my preference - rather expensive for 2 apps, 2 larger dishes and 2 drinks - overall small dining areas could be a negative for larger groups
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smyrna and I can say without a doubt it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. From start to finish, every aspect of the evening was exceptional. The food of course was delicious!
